I love Mercato Metropolitano in Elephant & Castle! Offering a diverse range of street food as well as cookery classes and a cinema, it has something for everyone! But what goes well with street food? Gin & Tonic of course! Ideally situated by the entrance to the market are the lovely and passionate Jim and Tonic team. ‘Clella’ is Jim and Tonic’s copper still which produces some wonderful gins behind the bar at Mercato Metropolitano. A combination of homemade gins and carefully selected premium craft gins makes up a fantastic menu. The G&T’s are served in large gin balloons (just how I like them!) and are reasonably priced at £7.50. To add variety, they mix it up with a weekly special. The Ruby with Slingsby Rhubarb Gin, Fever-Tree Elderflower Tonic, raspberries and fresh basil was one of the most popular on the menu. It is one of the sweeter G&T’s and I loved the addition of raspberries. Clarke with Sloe Gin, Fever-Tree Sicilian Lemonade, blackberries and lemon was also fruity and sweet. Sloe Gin is becoming more popular with the East London Girls! We then moved on to Penelope, another favourite on the menu. Served with Pinkster Gin, Fever-Tree Mediterranean tonic, raspberries and fresh mint, it was similar to the Ruby but less sweet. Lastly, we tried Bobby with Bobby’s Gin, cucumber tonic, lime and cucumber, which was light and refreshing. Jim and Tonic can be found every day at Mercato Metropolitano serving up their delightful creations. You can also find them at festivals / events in and around London in their mobile gin bar!

My wife and I had our wedding reception with Jim and Tonic at the Print House (which has just opened in Stratford, East London). The service provided by all of the staff (drinks service, food, music, table setting and decorations) was impeccable from start to finish - despite many of our guests accidentally arriving an hour early! We'd thoroughly recommend them as hosts for any future event, or even for just a quick drink at the bar. They make a wonderful old fashioned!

Love, love, love this gin. Was sent their Mediterranean self-isolation box as a gift and was blown away by it. Beautifully packaged with an amazing selection of tonics and a massive bottle of their distilled gin. The gin itself is DELICIOUS. Can't recommend them enough and will be down to visit them at the market as soon as we can!

We have collaborated with Jim and Tonic for one of our co-working space events as a treat for our residents. We could not be happier! Their pop-up bar has proven to be a massive success among our residents. Not to mention the staff have been friendly and very knowledgeable about the product! Tasty gin flavours and great presentation! Would definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking to collaborate with a local pop-up London gin distillery. They are based at Mercato Metropolitano - also great place for an evening out with friends and family. Definitely...

Mixers all flat. They used the 'gun' device and it was flat. They kindly got some bottles out back. STILL FLAT. We ended up trekking to one of the other bars despite the birthday being right next to this place. The female staff member was nice. The male staff member barely spoke English and wasn't very friendly. The spirits were either their own, or unrecognised from the cash and carry but charged at premium prices. You get a sprig of rosemary in your drink so...
