German Kraft Brewery & Taproom — Restaurant in London

Nice place. Music's a bit loud and the tables are way too wide to hear someone opposite. My first two helles had a slight acetic taste which disappeared in the next pints. They were served from different bars.

The latter beers were excellent, reminiscent of AU from Mährs in Bamberg. They were served in lined glasses for £5.50, so pretty good value considering. The hefeweiss was a bit bubblegum-sweet for me.

Excellent Franconian (and beyond) food options as well as weak gin and tonics served next door. They sell the same excellent growlers that Steinbach in Erlangen do at only £10 for a 2L swing top (+15 for beer) they are fantastic value.

One minor point... I saw this brewery selling beer at Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland and avoided them because of the name (''Kraft"), had to drink Löwenbrau instead... Wish...

Something quite special, a micro brewery, serving German and Germanic inspired beer and good food on the site of the Mercato Metropolitano in London. Yes, you can get German beer elsewhere in London, perhaps in a fancier local too, but not beer like this. German Kraft are doing something a little different and keeping it local, fresh, and quality focused, in a time of globalised corporate mediocrity. What is fresher than from the brewer themselves, you can see it happening in front of you! Admittedly, at the time of writing, the on site brewery is not finished and brewing, but fresh beer is being served. Expect the first batches of brew to be available around the end of December. In the mean time, the sausages, goulash, open fire and excellent beer still make German Kraft a great...

Proper pub beer, straight to your door.

We ordered 2 kegs to the flat during lockdown and it has been such a brilliant decision. Just days after we ordered, our kegs were delivered safely and personally to our door - it was clear that it had been delivered by people working for the company rather than usual mail services which was a lovely touch. The beer itself is BRILLIANT. It's the first beer I have drank in this whole lockdown period which has tasted properly like a pint from a pub, and I have missed it so much.
