I am the victim of the crime that took place at 138A King's Rd branch, and I am writing this review so you be extra careful when you visit Joe & the Juice café, 138A King's Rd, or any other branch of Joe & the Juice café. What happened is not acceptable, the behavior of the café and its staff was not OK by any means and a crime like this should not happen again.
I was feeling vulnerable and harassed by the thief who came from a back door used only by the staff and who eventually snatched my phone. I have strong evidence that the thief is one of the branch staff or somebody let in by the staff. The following explains why:
I realised that my phone got stolen right away after the thief left me alone, I followed him while he was still climbing up the stairs, but the thief disappeared in 1 sec. Then I tracked my phone directly; Samsung track showed that my phone is still in the café I was in and continued showing it’s in the café all the time. In fact, my phone is a kind of phone that it’s impossible to turn off without first unlocking it using either a code or my fingerprint, and I tracked my phone right away after the thief disappeared, it’s impossible he tried to use a software for example to turn my phone off. Based on this my phone was indeed in the café after it got stolen. I tracked my phone multiple times while in the café (using my laptop) and all the time Samsung and google track showed my phone still in the café, which closes at 10 pm. Directly I told the two security men who were sent to me by the café manager, that my phone is still in the café, they doubted me instead and made me feel as if I am the suspect, which crushed me the most. After around 2 hours from the incident, I managed to freeze my card which was itself inside the phone case, and the money was still not used (because I guess my phone and everything inside its case never left the café in the 1st place). The café staff (including the customer service/care team) refused to cooperate with the police to provide CCTV footage both through email and in person visits (The camera was pointing exactly in front of me, so possibly could have shown everything that happened).
The whole experience was very traumatising, not only because I was vulnerable and harassed for a while by the thief, and not only because the people in the café who ignored requests for help when I was getting harassed, but also by the café staff who were not helpful at all, especially the security men who made me more damaged when they refused to call the police or give me a phone and acting in away as if I am the suspect myself.
I hope the café take measures that help crime like this doesn’t...
Read moreI don't normally write reviews, but I'm writing this for transparency sake for future customers and for how I was treated. I ordered a joe's identity, remove broccoli and add carrot and celery. It came out to 8 pounds (which the lady behind the cash emphasized). I watched it being made and noted the lady squirted something from a bottle into my fresh juice before it was blended up. When she handed it to me, I said that drink couldn't be mine because she added an additional ingredient into it from a bottle. She said they added this to ALL OF THEIR FRESH JUICES and that it was COCONUT OIL. No where on the menu does it say COCONUT OIL IS ADDED TO ALL FRESH JUICES. I politely asked for a refund as I do not consume oil in my fresh juices and on principal I felt blindsided by a lack of transparency. She said they don't offer refunds. I mentioned that this was also no where noted on their menu and that I'd like my 8 pounds put back on my card please. She said it would take a day for the money to be put back on my account and she'd have to call a manager and it would take a long time to do it etc so I might as well just not get a refund at all. They said they would remake my juice without the coconut oil but at this point I didn't really want it because i didn't feel like a valued customer and they made me feel like I was wrong and ridiculous for the lack of transparency and frankly poor customer service. I'm writing this review so that others are aware of what is in their fresh juices (that can be upwards of 8 pounds). I will continue to support Funky Juice in Fulham Broadway as they have the best fresh juice and customer service I've experienced by far (let alone the best tasting...

The place was busy and I feel for the staff but they were really disorganised and it felt chaotic. For a start the customer before me wanted a nut milk but she got a coffee with normal milk, there were people waiting for their orders that kept asking for their items and the music was a bit too loud and the whole vibe was off. Once I placed my order I got my 2 juices within 10 minutes but my sandwich was not ready and when asked twice they said “it’s coming bro” +20 mins of waiting for a sandwich is too long! There needs to be some kind of a ticketing system and the volume of music should be lower. You need a juicer and a sandwich guys as they looked overwhelmed! The branch felt like a university bar, the staff are hanging out and enjoying themselves which is great but you need the basics right: Good quality juices and sandwiches delivered with a good service and a nice atmosphere.
