Let me be clear, first and foremost, we actually came to visit in May for my partner's birthday. I have the receipts. Secondly, there is absolutely no way you can actually back a manager or owner completely disregarding us, as if we were completely invisible. Third and foremost, me specifically stating one's background is not a racial attack as it is me trying to be more specific on who the individual is as I did not get a name. I actually find it very pathetic your response for our mistreatment it is honestly laughable at this point, and the only reason I actually came back to leave the review is I genuinely forgot, but as soon as it came back to me, I was absolutely not going to let it slip. And a side note if this review is deemed a racial attack I am pretty sure Google will have it removed. Nice try deflecting. And to everyone reading this my initial review is just below 👇🏼

Me and my partner came for lunch quite excited first initial interaction was fine with the two ladies one was the waitress and the other was front desk, until the manager of oriental decent to be precise came around talking to everyone making sure everyone else was fine but completely ignored us came across really arrogant as if we were not good enough to be in his restaurant. Maybe a racial thing maybe an ageist thing who actually knows just funny to me because if they knew I was a professional football player I can guarantee it would have been a very difference experience. I am not one to complain but I just felt odd in there because of him it actually threw my appetite. The funniest thing about it is a female influencer turned up and honestly you would think she is related to the royal family they way they treated her. The bare minimum you could do as the owner or manager is politely ask or check if everything is ok and not to judge a book by its cover you never know who people are. Thankfully the two lovely ladies made it somewhat welcoming. But never will I step foot in that...

A very cool atmosphere and gorgeous interiors for a great dinner setting, unfortunately let down by service side mix ups.

We started on a great note with a carafe of tequila and plenty of great guacamole, followed by cocktails. We then waited almost 45 mins for our starters - at the same time, they came around for last orders so we added two more quesadillas and a dessert (so we could have something for a birthday candle).

We were told that because of the kitchen closing they’d have to bring out dessert at the same time as the food which was a bit weird - but the waitress said she’d be able to hold it in the fridge for us.

When they did bring out mains, they had gotten the order wrong so took the food back (much to our disappoint because the short rib looked delicious). That left our table with only a side of corn esquites and a further wait. In the end, only the chicken thighs were brought out, with no mention of our short ribs or quesadillas mentioned to us at all. Although they did comp the chicken for the long wait, we’d rather have had all the food we ordered.

We waited for a further 40 minutes and then agreed to just cancel any remaining food orders (but from the sounds of it nothing was being prepared anyway) and get the bill. At this point they brought out the dessert (a single serve of tres leches) because this couldn’t be cancelled anymore. Have to admit it was delicious but no one at the table was in a mood to share a piece of cake when we hadn’t eaten properly and were all just ready to leave.

What food we did have was good, can imagine if you actually had a proper meal here it’d be worth all the great reviews. However, £400+ later for drinks and a bit of food...

Ixchel, London - Mexican dining experience So, in preparation for my trip to Mexico, decided to try this restaurant off a personal recommendation. On entry, you will be instantly amazed by the interior decor, which feels like you are being transported to a different country. Make sure you go downstairs and have a look as well. There's a dj booth for late night dining. Customer service was really good here, although I did witness one or two order errors. Only minor. The order for the night: Guacamole White Crab Tostada Ensenada Taco (single piece) Pork belly Tacos Crispy potatoes Molcajete Salsa - spicy Flight of blanco tequila - fortaleza, don julio and Herredura Bunuelo Mexican dessert The Guacamole was standard , but tasted fresh so probably homemade. The white crab tostada is something I haven't had before but it was good and well seasoned. The Ensenada Fish taco was similar to that of Laurel's so good as well. Not greasy. Pork bely tacos were okay but the Crispy potatoes kept the momentum up. The sauce was very tasty. For the african and caribbean people, please get the scotch bonnet salsa for any spicy requirement. My only disappointment was that I didn't get any fiery heat from any of the menu items Best blanco on the night was the Herradura. Cocktails are good as well Last but not least, the main highlight which I took as a risk was the Bunuelo dessert. I was unsure about the corn ice cream, but I loved it. Amazing dessert recommendation. Highly recommended dining experience Ps interesting about the ice in the toilets, probably is effective . Would love to hear the story behind that lol

Walking into Restaurant Ixchel felt like stepping into Mexico itself. The vibrant ambiance and the warm welcome from the receptionist immediately set the stage for an incredible evening. From the start, we were taken care of by Manager Raffaele, who made sure every moment was special. Mook, Samia, and Sharath—were amazing, providing attentive service and fantastic recommendations throughout the night. The food was simply outstanding. Every dish was crafted with care, and I especially loved the prawns, the short ribs, and the heavenly tres leches dessert. The tres leches was beyond anything I’ve ever tasted—rich, moist, and unforgettable. Kudos to the Chef for their exceptional work! The cocktails were another highlight of the evening. Thanks to Damini and Tj, I experienced some of the best drinks I’ve ever had. Their expertise and recommendations truly elevated the night, leaving me speechless. What made this evening even more special was the surprise birthday celebration my friends had planned. The personalized birthday plate was a heartwarming touch that made the experience feel truly unique and unforgettable. Restaurant Ixchel offers more than just a meal; it’s an experience like no other. The combination of exceptional service, exquisite food, and a magical ambiance made my night unforgettable. Thank you to the entire team for making it a celebration to remember!
