Flawless. The only word strong enough to describe the deliciousness - and almost the powerful ‘aura’ of flavor surrounding Amorino ice cream. Located on the popular King’s Road, it’s next to a rival ice cream parlor, otherwise known as it’s worst enemy - Venchi. Amorino is easily the better ice cream place, and read on for more reasons why.
Firstly, the taste. They serve their ice cream, allowing it to be savored and enjoyed to the very last sliver of ice cream. It’s fairly non-melty, and a great choice for hot summer days.
Secondly, the variety. There’s about thirty different flavors to choose from, a billion different cones (you can have small, medium, large, extra large, share and all of those in chocolate-covered mode) and the same with cups. You can add on extensions, including wafer sticks and macaroons (normal and ice-cream filled) which all come in a bunch of different flavors.
Thirdly, the presentation. If you get a cone, experienced Amorino staff members will carefully craft the perfect ice cream, by mourning your selected flavors into a stunning ‘gelato rose.’
Finally, the limits. You can have unlimited flavors on your Amorino ice cream, with no additional cost - a luxury not attainable in many places at all. Yes, next time you visit King’s Road, never go to boring Venchi, with it’s limited flavors and crazy scoop-policy - always visit Amorino, the true land...
Read moreNice gealto. They shape their ice cream scoops into a flower. However, they don't give you a lot of ice cream for the amount you pay because the scoops are thin and flat. Shop is tiny and is very cramped and the queue isn't managed very well - there are stools but no one can sit on them anyway because there isn't enough room. There are too many trainees in this shop who don't know how to make a flower, and the scoops end up being really messy. I recommend Venchi (which is only 50m away) where the decoration, air conditioning and space is far bigger and better than Amorino, and you get more ice cream for the price you pay. They also sell delicious chocolate and avoid using palm oil (which contributes to the deforestation of rainforests) and there ice cream is far creamier and better quality than Amorino's (once again, the value for money at Venchi is far better than Amorino). I'd give Amorino a 3-star because I'm feeling nice, but it's probably worth going to...
Read moreI am 6 months pregnant so you can imagine my keenness for some good gelato on a hot sunny day, I waited in line for more then 30 mins and when I finally put my order in (I asked for 5 flavours) I only got 4 in my cup, I advised the lady serving me that she obviously didn’t here my full order as it was busy in there and she had been talking to her colleague so could she correct it. Her response was a very rude “NO! You did not tell me your order correctly”.
After staying the fact that I had just paid nearly £6 for my order and waited patiently for over 30mins the least she could do was make sure I went away with what I paid for but she refused, her colleague then chimed in that I was in the wrong and should leave.
I felt quite embarrassed by the situation but shocked that staff have such a blatant disregard for customer service.
Think twice before giving your money to...
