I had an incredibly satisfying experience at this restaurant. There's something special about having a proper napkin laid on your lap, isn't there? It's a small detail, but it can elevate the dining experience to a new level. And when you're surrounded by karma sutra-themed objects d'art and an ambient soundtrack, it creates an atmosphere that's both relaxing and intriguing.
Even if the two curries on your plate have exactly the same sauce, it doesn't matter. Because sometimes it's not about the food itself, but the overall experience. This trick of presenting two seemingly identical dishes has been around for ages, but it still works like a charm. The food was absolutely fantastic, with a wide range of meat and vegetarian dishes that were bursting with flavor. What's more, the dishes could be adjusted to pack a punch if you wanted to spice things up a bit. The ambient lighting in the restaurant sets the perfect mood for a relaxed dining experience.
The portion sizes were more than generous, leaving me feeling completely full and satisfied. The staff were an absolute delight - so incredibly kind, gracious, and welcoming. They made me feel right at home from the moment I walked through the door.
Overall, I highly recommend this Indian restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The food is some of the best I've ever had, and the staff are simply amazing. Don't hesitate to give it a try - you won't be...
Read moreI had been in London from NYC for a few weeks and had yet to go out for Indian food. One of the desk clerks at my hotel recommended Kamasutra and I checked it out.
First impression, shocked that this place isn’t packed. The staff is wonderful and kind and asked all the right questions as far as spice level (bring it on) and allergies. I’m gluten intolerant (not celiac), and usually Indian places are easy to navigate around, but she made sure everything was okay for me to eat.
I can’t remember what app I had, but for the main I had the Kamasutra Chicken. It is marked as “very spicy” and it didn’t disappoint.
That said, the spice was perfectly balanced on all parts of the palette and I could still taste the chicken and vegetables. I love spice, but if it completely overwhelms the actual food, what’s the point?
The only small hiccup was that the prosecco split o ordered was dead. The server opened a second and it was dead too. I’m going to guess it was a storage issue, and clearly not the servers fault. (Sometimes if sparkling wine goes through drastic temperature swings, the bubbles die)
All in all, I will be back the next time I’m in...
Read moreSuch a disappointment. There is some real skill here; the paneer is fresh, breads are good, the rice excellent but ultimately it's let down by the sauce. Everything is covered in a thick gloopy sauce that drowns everything but hides the fact that there is little of the main ingredient. Take the sag paneer. Really lovely cheese, but only 4 pieces, the rest of the dish is full of puree spinach green gloop. Bombay aloo, not so go, just slices of old soft potatoes covered in a lot of reddy brown gloop. Tarka dal, slightly different as there's no tarka going on here, just gloopy lentils. Meat dishes just the same, low on meat, heavy on a heavy gloopy sauce.
As for the service....eccentric might be the best word. A request for a pint of tap water, got us 4 empty glasses. We got interrupted by another waiter wanting the dried flower arrangement in the window, now!
Someone is wasting their time in the kitchen, because the over all impression is of a place that simply doesn't care enough
Summed up by the lack of concern that we left most of the...
