Update 06/2019 High quality food, relaxed and friendly service. I’ve been here for the first time since their reopening and the interior has been freshened up and looks neat and tidy. I came early in the morning and, unfortunately, the place was not yet set up. Although I prefer to go out for breakfast to a relaxed place, as opposed to a busy one and feeling rushed, it is a matter of professionalism to have the displays ready when opening for business. However, the quality of the food definitely is immaculate. The breakfast menu has a range of sweet as well as savoury dishes with gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options (or a combination of those) offering a choice for everyone regardless the dietary requirements. Dishes are prepared freshly on site, so one might have to wait a little before it is ready, yet it is being served within a reasonable time. I have had a wonderful breakfast, sweet potato and kale hash with poached eggs, asparagus and broccoli. The portion was generous and satisfying and very tasty. The sweet potatoes were soft and had a lovely grilled flavour, the kale had a nice earthy taste to supplement the sweetness of the potatoes. The greens were grilled and tender to bite. The poached eggs had a perfectly runny yolks and some chili flakes sprinkled over. The dish combined different flavours, slightly hot from the chili flakes, sweetness from the potatoes and earthy-nutty flavours from the greens and needed no additional seasoning. The texture was fairly soft throughout, so if one likes to have some crispiness as well a dish with sourdough toast might be a more suitable choice. The price is absolutely justified and given the portion size and freshness of ingredients, a great value for money. It definitely is one of my favourite places to have a relaxed, high quality brunch/breakfast and will definitely come back and have a try of some of the other dishes (breakfast and lunch) as well. ************************** 12/2018 Amazing! High level of food quality, range and ambience. I've visited the place with two friends to have breakfast before lectures and it definitely kick-started our day. It is a cozy little cafe offering a small but excellent choice of breakfast/brunch (and lunch) as well as a variety of baked sweets. The menu includes vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options (in different combinations, meeting a broad variety of dietary requirements). The waitress was very amicable and helpful in getting to a decision (her recommendation met my preferences spot-on) and we've been served within reasonable time (just the time it takes to get a freshly made dish). I've had a satisfying almond milk based buckwheat porridge with seeds and fruits on top. The texture was creamy yet the buckwheat still a little bit al dente, so it would not become dull while eating. I would've preferred if the fruit was warmed/cooked as well, but that is just a personal preference. My friends enjoyed their breakfast (avocado on toast and veggie protein bowl) as well,- saying it was nourishing and delicious. I've had a chocolate brownie (take away) too and it was really delicate. Succulent and rich in flavour it kept it's relish throughout the day. The prizes are very reasonable and beyond all question satisfied given the high quality of food. Customer service is excellent as is the atmosphere in the place (noticing the nice choice of music at a decent sound level to still be able to have a conversation). Being both gluten and lactose intolerant I especially appreciate that the dishes in the showcase are arranged appealingly yet not touching each other, keeping the chances of cross-contamination at a minimum. Definitely will come back.

Needing to be in central over lunch I popped into Kin in Fitzrovia. Immediately there was a pleasant upbeat energy and friendly reception. It’s a cosy venue with a handful of additional outdoor seats on a picturesque side street; a bit of an Oxford Street haven (8 minutes walk from Oxford Circus).

The staff were busy but never rushed, willing to take that moment to chat about the menu and keep an eye on your needs.

The warm weather had me opting for the Healthy Nutter smoothie (with Mango, Coconut, pineapple, lime and mint) giving up that cheery summer vibe. The mint and lime are the perfect complement to the sweet and creamy mango and coconut.

They offer a range of plant based bowls, breakfasts and mains (Burrito, Chickpea curry) and then the desserts: a waffles and pancake. Everything can be ordered as a vegan option with some substitutes stated on the menu. There wasn’t an item on the menu that didn’t tempt.

I had the Lentil Soup (intentionally to keep it lite for a waffle - sweet tooth planning ahead). The soup was delicious and indeed lite which is not always the case with lentil soup, generally being an earthy and hearty option. I really appreciate the fresh and crisp vegetables and breadth of flavour range. It was certainly a substantial potion; perfect as a main rather than a starter.

Now the Waffle: the menu describes caramelised banana and mixed berries, agave nectar, berry compote coconut yogurt and almond butter. Clearly the anticipation was building…

We’ll take a look at the pictures and see why my jaw literally and actually dropped as the plate approached. It’s was dramatic and beautiful with me reluctant (for half a second) to disrupt the art. But I did disrupt and I did decimate; in a flurry of colour and flavour this waffle and I blissfully ruined each other. A waffle version like I have never had before. Whatever else you have, keep space for this treat (maybe to share though).

For a quick solo pop-in my visit to Kin was a lovely experience. I would encourage you to step in on your own or make it a...

The ambience was just wonderful. The place is very cosy and cutely decorated! The staff was incredibly friendly and nice, everything arrived quickly and was so yummy! My friend and I both had the KIN breakfast, and my friend had the vegan option. Upon asking to have the tomato and mushroom removed from my portion, they asked if I wanted to replace it with something else free of charge, which I thought was so forthcoming and charming. I also had a cappucino, and my friend ordered a chai latte with oat milk, and both were very yummy (I would've liked some sugar with my cappucino but forgot to ask). As a dessert I had a chai & jaggery, which went very well with the cappucino where I was missing some sugar. My friend ordered a vegan chocolate brownie (devil's brownie), and we were both pleasantly surprised with how amazing they both tasted!

The bathroom was clean and modern, I really liked that they provided some lotion.

So, all in all, it is an incredibly positive experience, and we are definitely coming here again to try out more from the menu! Warm greetings from Germany ♡

Edit: it's been so great that we squished in another breakfast in our itinerary. I had the waffles with almond butter (a must, it was so tasty!) and my friend got the pancakes. The waffles were so fluffy and the fresh fruit complimented it greatly, the banana and strawberries were my favourite. The agave syrup was sweet but not too overwhelming with the waffles. I had the yellow sunshine smoothie and wow. It was amazing. My friend had a vanilla milkshake with oatmilk and i really liked when i tried, you cannot taste the oat. The vanilla flavour was so sweet but not artificial at all. One of the best milkshakes i...
