Food was quite alright, the portion size vs what you get for the price is a bit eh but I understand it’s near selfridges and it’s in london so of course it’s going to be like that but one thing I found odd was when my friend last came on her own she had more food for the same order? They had gave us less this time as I had noticed in photos she took but whatever it was okay. I was 100% not a fan of the service ( I would like to point out the female waiters specifically in this instance especially the two that look fairly similar as a darker skinned woman came over at some point to serve us but didn’t do anything to rack this review this way). Asked for the menu so I could get a drink as to which I received and placed my order, after my food had finished the drink STILL had not come yet everyone else had gotten theirs so I was confused. Waited a bit after that because maybe they’re just busy and it’ll come? So I asked them again for my drink as to which they acted as if they’d forgot so I was waiting on nothing, brought me the menu again to select my drink and I did, only to find they had forgot a second time so at this point I didn’t want the drink anymore you know the foods done and if it takes this long for a drink then I no longer want desert I’ll just go elsewhere. Asked for the bill and you’d be just as shocked as me when you find out they put the drink on the bill (not to mention the RANDOM CHARITY CHARGE THEY ADDED ON WITHOUT ASKING US??? SEEING OTHER REVIEWS SAYING THE SAME IS SO INSANE BECAUSE HELLO? ASKING?? Wow… ) yep so the drink I had been waiting on was ON THE BILL yet everyone “forgot” 🌝 Will i come back again? Probably not, it was quite busy anyway and the woman beside me found a bone or something In her food which kinda put me off as. I don’t think it’s all that for the price you pay but the hot chocolates were super creative and tasted well so I do recommend those highly if you visit. I dont also like how me and my friend were just seated and had just got in there to already find the waiter behind her, she didn’t say anything she just awkwardly stood there as if we had made a decision, she didn’t ask anything she just stood and eventually left when she realised we had nothing to order yet, felt kinda uncomfortable honestly. I’m sure you was busy and there was a lot to do during this time however I do think the customer service regarding the two ladies who look very similar could be improved as they were the only people that made the experience very meh… I’m sure the rest of the servers were fine. When being asked for the check they asked if we’d like to pay separately and yes we would, got confused on how much was needed to pay due to the extra service charge and the left our drinks ect. Me and my friend calculated before hand but my friend was confused on why she didn’t get the same amount of change she predicted and that may have been a miscommunication on our end as they had added £7 service charge. I asked the woman so how much would it be as a split bill (if you’re gonna offer to pay separately I expect that maybe you’d have a better way for us to pay rather than giving us the joint bill and expecting us to figure ect ect) as to which she said we don’t do split bill, she didn’t seem like she was to happy with us and looked oddly annoyed so I just asked about the price and she explained to me about the service charge which I was no longer interested in, I just wanted to know how much it was in total. Honestly I don’t think I’ll be coming back after my experience, just kinda put me off, shame though as the hot choclates were quite nice. I would also love the point out that the sausages look raw?? Like VERY RAW, Idk if this is how the meat is here as I’m seeing a lot of this in the reviews.luckily my friend was able to tell me it’s supposed to be like that she guesses as the type of sausage is...

We had booked a table for 10 pm on Christmas Day after our shift, and unfortunately, the evening did not unfold as we anticipated. Half of our party arrived early, and while we weren't in a hurry, we decided to order some starters and a bottle of wine to share. While our server seemed less prompt than expected, we understood the late hour, and as we were early we weren’t in a rush.
The wine took about 20 minutes to arrive, and the croquettes, albeit delicious, followed close to 40 minutes later, just after the rest of our party joined us at 10:05 pm. Again, we weren’t wanting to be pushy, and our entire party wasn’t there, so we were more than happy to wait at the time. When the rest of our group subsequently arrived, we were waited to place our food orders, finally asking at 10:20 pm, but to our dismay we were informed that the kitchen had closed 5 minutes prior.
We would have appreciated being informed of the kitchen closing time during our earlier interactions, or even receiving a message suggesting an earlier arrival when we were given a booking confirmation, given that we were the only late reservation. We understand the desire to close on time, especially on a holiday, but it leaves us wondering why the late time slot was available for booking if service was that limited.
What compounded our disappointment was the lack of communication throughout the evening. Our server, who was seemingly more concerned with his own activities, took our drink orders and then proceeded to step outside to smoke shisha without any follow-up. The revelation of the kitchen closure, delivered with what appeared to be a smirk, was both unprofessional and disrespectful.
This candid feedback is not intended to sugarcoat the severity of our experience but rather to convey our deep disappointment. While we commend the quality of the food and drinks, this positive aspect does not outweigh the significant shortcomings in service and communication. It's disappointing that we had to go hungry on Christmas Day due to this miscommunication, and we hope you take this critique seriously and address the issues to ensure a more positive dining experience for...
Read moreFantastic service from the two gentleman that served our table, if not for them I would have rated much lower.
Had a booking for birthday brunch on 28th for 2pm, arrived on time. The entrance to the venue was so beautiful but unfortunately the lady at the front desk was less than welcoming. We made eye contact when I entered & bearing in mind the restaurant was packed there was no greeting. I waited as she did look busy after a few seconds she then looked up again & back at her tablet but the member of staff behind her then acknowledge me and I mentioned I was here for a booking. The number booked was what I confirmed with her, maybe she thought something else as she asked me to reconfirm the number. I was then told to wait which was ok & I went to the ladies.
Don't be fooled by the small size upon entering as they have 'the Cave' space downstairs which is an intimate space that is perfect for a small celebration. With a separate exit & entrance. We had our booking in this area & the service was immaculate. The two waiters were attentive & answered questions we had about the portion sizes & even double checked each time our order arrived to ensure nothing was missed. We practically had the downstairs to ourselves.
They were adaptable in allowing another small group that had booking to take the space we had left as we booked for 7 but only 4 were able to make it. Oxford Circus had so much traffic. The waiters upon our request ensured that a separate bill was made for the other table.
The food was delicious I had pancakes with turkey bacon & added sausages. Others members of the group had full English with some things removed, chicken breast with chips. We were all very happy with the food & the again the gentleman that served...
