I would not recommend this studio at all, and from reading other reviews it seems there are recurring issues. First of all, I have done reformers for many years with my own socks (that are sturdy but without grips), that I am comfortable using. I mentioned this to the manager, but she insisted I had to use grippy socks and hence I had to purchase some for £12. These socks were problematic on the yoga mat and I kept slipping while trying to do lunges etc with weights. I removed them (intending to put them on for the reformer), and I was told to stay in the class I had to use them. I even showed the instructor how they kept sliding and she insisted as per policy I had to use them. So I left the class as I didn’t want an injury. I tried to get a refund for the socks but was not provided one. Bear in mind I had my own tried and tested socks I was not allowed to use as they didn’t have grips. I was told all this was for hygiene reasons, so surely just get sprays to clean equipment like other studios do? This studio is not worth the money, and like the screens, there is no personalised service with the managers not using any ounce of common sense or discretion. Would avoid at all costs, there are better friendlier reformer studios...
Read moreI am doing the 5 intro offer and really enjoying it. So far it seems like all the trainers are women and they have all been super friendly and positive :) The classes are as hard as you would expect but I was pleasantly surprised that eveyday (so far) has been a completely different workout because I was scared the pre-recorded exercises would repeat a lot (they don't).
If I could offer any suggestions for improvement it would be to have an obvious place you can dispose of used sweat towels upstairs (there might be one but I couldn't find it) so you can just leave without having to go downstairs if you wanted to. Also, the workout room would benefit from mirrors so that you can check your form while exercising. Latecomers should not be admitted, it ruins the flow and happens so frequently because it is tolerated.
I know there is a trust system with the self check-in. But it should really ask you to confirm something like your last name to prevent someone else just turning up and stealing your place. The same applies to the self-service drinks purchase. The problem with systems based on trust is it only takes a few people to ruin it for...
Read moreI have been a member of FS8 for over a year and initially enjoyed the classes and atmosphere. However, recurring issues have led me to write this disappointing review.
The changing rooms are very small and lack essential amenities. The hot water has been consistently unreliable, and despite reporting this issue multiple times, there has been no improvement. Additionally, one of the three hair straighteners has been broken for several months and has not been replaced, leaving only two functional ones. This is particularly inconvenient during peak hours. Furthermore, there used to be four hair dryers, but one broke a year ago and has never been replaced. With only three hair dryers available, it's often a struggle to get ready after a class, especially for those who attend before or during work hours.
Compared to other studios in the area, FS8 is pricy for the limited services provided. The lack of amenities makes it difficult to justify the cost, especially when other studios offer more for the same or even lower prices.
I hope the management addresses these issues soon, as they significantly impact the...
