When we were first looking at London venues for our wedding, Kindred stood out from the rest. From when we first looked at Kindred in person, to our wedding day itself, it completely exceeded our expectations. The venue itself is gorgeous with so much personality; we wanted a wedding venue that was classy, cool, fancy but not uptight or old-fashioned, and that’s Kindred.
Having good food and drink was very important to us and it’s what we had the most compliments about on the day - everything from the canapés to the cocktails to the feasting menu and the late night food was wonderful. Charles was super helpful at recommending quantity and helping us to decide when to serve what. We had a number of children at our wedding and their plates were clean - a real compliment and a testament to how good the food really is! At all the weddings I’ve been to the food at Kindred is the best I’ve had, which is something that makes Kindred stand out from every other wedding venue. It’s amazing food without the fussiness - every guest was so well-fed.
We loved having the different spaces available to us for the wedding and the flow between the rooms was handled excellently by Kindred. Charles was brilliant at managing the guests and keeping everything to time - the room switch over looked absolutely effortless but I’m sure it was a monumental piece of work.
From when Charles first took over managing our wedding, any worries and stresses were gone and he swept in and completely saved the day. Charles completely got our vision and made sure our wedding was the day we had dreamed of and so much more. Although we knew the timeline of the day - how effortlessly everything was handled, the set up of the tables, the food, drinks and everything else completely exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t have imagined a more magical wedding. Thank you so much to Charles and the team at Kindred for making sure we had the wedding of our dreams, and we hope to make more memories at Kindred in the...
Read morePlease note this refers to the bar/restaurant on the lower level at Kindred, not the club/work space. I rarely write reviews, but in light of the poor service we experienced last night (Sept 13), it seemed justified - the management of this small, nicely decorated establishment really need help!
Whilst it was busy when we arrived, despite having booked a table, it took quite some skill for every single member of the wait-staff to ignore us for so long - and I mean literally avoid eye contact and refuse to smile when we said hello. So we grabbed our own table (my friend had popped in earlier before I arrived) then started the challenge of trying to place an order ... and request water ... and then ask twice if we could order drinks ... then for menus ... then again if we order order food. By this point the place was relatively quiet since I presume diners had left for the 7:30 Apollo show.
Food was tasty but extremely small portions for the price, although I do note these were tapas-style sharing plates. In the meantime the 8+ wait staff enjoyed chatting, scrolling on their phones and eating dinner whilst standing at the bar (yes I saw you ...the gal by the cash desk!). This is a more than adequate number for the small number of tables inside and out, but without management direction, well ... that says it all!
After we complained, staff were more attentive and I acknowledge they knocked 15% off our bill, but then added a 12.5% service charge, somewhat cancelling that out! Apologies for the long post, but overall a really poor performance in a target-rich location where I guess they feel they don't have to bother on a...
Read moreextremely disappointed with the security at the halloween event kindred recently put on. the night we had when one of the bouncers forced a member of the party to leave a space "designated for vip" however when further pushed on the why and asked other patrons within that designated space if they were part of said "vip" section they stated they knew nothing and were also just regular clientele. when further asking the bouncer it became clear that the situation was racial profiling. This was confirmed when after having to ask mutliple times we were able to speak to a manager who handled the situation. our party decided to leave the establishment soon after. as one of the last members of our party was leaving the space alone after getting their jacket the aforementioned bouncer decided unprovoked threaten saying verbatim " im going to smash your face in" and tried to follow them outside of the establishment onto the road. realising that the rest of the party was waiting outside and he was outnumbered so he retreated. we further try to resolve this isssue with management and while they did apologise nothing was actually done. this same bouncer continued to harrass other patrons that witnessed the event later while on the tube. further escalating while trying to defend himself and becoming more agitated when the patrons did not agree with his behavior. while the rest of services were satisfactory this aspect was absolutely...
