First visit; swapped chips for jacket potato in app, still received chips... she said she could take it back but I was already freezing at the table outside so I refused. Also the "small fish" looked like a fried stripe of fish (could only see the fried bit and no fish perhaps they just breaded fish spine and fried it...). I wouldn't call it a fried fish, was very disappointed with that great "deal" food.
Second experience, asked security if I can sit in the more private area as he stood in front of me, he said something but apparently I looked away before he replied ( a friend told me i haven't noticed sorry about that!),
So... I ordered for nearly 50 pounds for 3 of us, and wasn't sure if the table number was correct.... So I went to the tills area to make sure, the guy asked me what I ordered, I said it was a big order and each person had a different plate, but I had the order number in the app so I can show him (he looked kinda angry and bothered) and then checked the order number and confirmed it was the right table.
Here's where trouble starts; on my way back a friend was coming back from toilet so the guy who confirmed my order saw both of us , we look quite young and went back to our table, our pitchers (2jugs) arrived and there was 3 of us ( waiter brought no glasses until we asked him later) when we tried the pitchers we felt NO ALCOHOL IN IT what so ever.... I look about 20 but I'm 32 my other friend is 29 and another friend is 22, we all look quite young but I think becouse of the fact that I looked so young our jugs had no alcohol in it. If you must be this mean please ask for ID instead of just not putting any alcohol in both pitchers I payed around 12 pounds for , I didn't order juice that would cost me far less.
We came there becouse at first we tried the pitcher in tortilla and we were very disappointed, they forgot about us so we waited like 30 minutes and then asked someone, and they brought us a jug full of ice which later spilled on the table while we tried to put it into glasses.... so we thought here 2 jugs for 12 pounds that were not frozen was the greatest deal for us but ended up being disappointed again... cmon hammersmith
So my review; Small fish ; ridiculous wouldn't call it fish.
Maybe kitchen or bartender (or waiter but I doubt they control orders) staff attention to order needs to be improved ( swapped fries for jacket potato and still received fries).
The Asian guy on the bar needs to be nicer and maybe it was my imagination but you can't just give pitchers with only juice to someone who ordered it with alcohol in it. I havent complained as I have no proof but that was very unprofessional from him (or whoever filled up the jugs)
I'm giving 4 stars for now for bad fish and no alcohol in pitchers I will improve to 5 ⭐ on my next visit if I can accualy feel any alcohol in the 12 pound jugs and if I recive correct order and normal small fish not a breaded stripe or spine of fish , if order will not be correct again I'm gonna reduce to 3 ⭐.
Overall great great place and prices but needs a slight...
Read moreMy friend and I visited ‘The William Morris’ Wetherspoons on 1st March before a concert. When we arrived, we had several alcoholic drinks and a few shots. Around an hour and a half after we got our first drinks, a young male waiter came and asked to see our ID’s. When I handed him my UK Driving License, he bent it several times and tried to scratch the holographic security sticker off the front. He then told us that he ‘needed to check it as it looked like there was something wrong with it.’ From what we saw he took it behind the bar, and then downstairs to his manager. When he and his manager, a blonde woman called Leanne, came back, my ID had been broken in half, with a large crack at the top and the security sticker had large gouges through it which has caused it to peel off. She repeatedly accused me, very rudely, of having a fake ID and told us to leave. Her only reasoning was that ‘if it was real, it wouldn’t have snapped.’ My ID was in-fact real, and therefore I questioned them as to why they had broken it. She was incredibly rude and dismissive, and the lovely security guard came over to talk to us. I explained the situation to him and he took my ID behind the bar, scanned it, and confirmed that it was indeed real. By this point my ID had already been snapped in half! I asked to speak to the manager again, as it was absolutely ridiculous that my ID, which will now cost me around £80 to replace, had been snapped when after a simple check they were able to validate that it was real. When she came to talk to us, she was passively scrolling through apps on her mobile phone rather than actually engaging with me. Not only has she caused illegal damage to my property, destroyed my Proof of ID government document, she was also very rude and completely unapologetic. I was also aware that I had to enter a concert shortly after, which they could require ID for - after having travelled from Brighton it was incredibly frustrating to then have the one form of ID on my person broken and potentially not be able to enter an event I'd already paid for. I would also like to point out that we had been served and drank 3 or 4 drinks before they asked to see our ID and deemed mine as ‘fake.’ If it had been fake, they would also have been breaking the law by serving alcohol to a minor. Luckily I am 22 years old and it is perfectly legal for me to drink! Leanne, the manager, is utterly incompetent & hugely let your business down. Your security guards, who I will credit, showed far more customer service and kindness than she did. I have raised a police report and will be escalating to...
