First of all, I'm Italian and have been in many places, so I know what I'm talking about.

Atmosphere: was very nice, nothing extravagant but really cozy, especially with the italian songs going on in the background.

Service: As friendly as it can get, you can order in english or in italian if you want.

Food: You get bread covered with olive oil (yes, for free) to start with, just like we italians are used to in our country. There aren't too many plates to choose from, but they have more than enough to fulfil your taste buds' desire. They have italian plates, especially pasta, that aren't usually found outside of italy (e.g. mallureddus al ragù, pappardelle al tartufo). I can guarantee that they also taste as if they had been brought from italy themselves! And the pasta is cooked like it's supposed to be, not what you are probably used to (no offence).

I haven't tried any wines, but I don't think they should disappoint. As for the prices, 14£ for a consistent and exquisite plate of pasta is pretty decent to be honest.

I definitely recommend it to everyone that is looking for something tasty and italian.

P.S. I'm not biased, I'm experienced and wanted to share my...

I'd read the reviews on here and trip advisor before going and was a bit dubious but though I'd give it a go anyway.

The service was poor from the moment we walked through the door, we waited around for 10 minutes despite booking a table beforehand, eventually showing ourselves to the table. The starters came without any cutlery and we had to go and ask, the cutlery then took a further 5 minutes to arrive. We didn't bother with the dessert as we had been there 90 minutes for the starter and main after ordering them at the same time about 15 minutes after arriving. I didn't take a chance with the bill either and insisted on going inside to pay there and then rather than wait another 20 minutes.

The food was alright when it turned up but the poor service was the thing I remember, and I won't be returning.

Other groups had the same experience, a couple next to us were complaining their food was taking forever to arrive, and another group who had booked a table had to wait 20 minutes before they were seated.

The reviews I had read about the bad service were certainly true in my experience, and there are far better options in Richmond...

Worst dining experience we have ever had because of the owner's extremely rude attitude. They gave us a table where 4 people can sit despite our reservation was for 5 people. After an hour, before finishing our dinner they brought the bill before it is requested and said they need the table for other customers. The owner was extremely rude, save your money and go to another restaurant nearby!

Reply to restaurant owner's comment: Hey Martina, Good try! but people who know you already won't buy it! I can see you are not only disrespectful, your comment is also not correct. My friend and her 2 daughters saw us in the restaurant and came to our table to say hi. They stayed less than 15 mins and left the restaurant because they already had a bad experience with you previously. If you were so kind as to think for your customers waiting in the queue you should have taken the chairs from our next table where there were 2 empty chairs. Customers who read this review can see a lot of similar experience in the other reviews in both Google Maps and Tripadvisor. You have a lot to learn about how to communicate...

Arrived in Richmond late on a Saturday afternoon and from the taxi noticed a nice looking wine bar and opposite, an Italian restaurant. The wine bar didn’t serve food, so we crossed the road to La Luna Di Luca. We were fortunate to get a table (without a booking) and enjoyed seeing so many family groups dining out together. The menu has many flavours from Sardinia and we really enjoyed the Tagliatelle al Ragu and the Mallureddus Campidanese (Sardinian pasta with sausage) - both expertly cooked al dente. The rocket and pomegranate salad complemented the pasta perfectly. The moreish rosé was exactly as the owner described it - fruity and dry. I would like to drink it again! The only downside was the unexpected “optional” 12.5% service charge - the highest we’ve come across on this trip. We’d definitely eat here again - the pizzas looked very good too.

Nestled in the heart of London, La Luna di Luca is a true gem for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine. Upon entering, the warm and welcoming atmosphere immediately sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The menu at La Luna di Luca is a celebration of traditional Italian flavors, crafted with passion and expertise. From classic pasta dishes like homemade tagliatelle al ragù to mouthwatering pizzas, each dish is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to authenticity. Both Martina and Luca go above and beyond to ensure that every diner feels like a cherished guest, providing recommendations with genuine enthusiasm and ensuring that every need is met with a smile. Thank you very much!

A true gem in our community! This is my absolute favourite Italian eatery! Fresh seasonal and hand made food with love and passion! The pizza is exceptional everything is authentic, including the atmosphere and the warm and friendly team. Fresh artichokes (a total labour of love!) seasonal salad plentiful and so fresh, tiramisu light as a feather but still rich and decadent, not to mention the amaretto affogato - HEAVEN! I just come loving here I feel cared for and love eating this REAL food!
