La Piazza — Restaurant in London

Went to Topolli for the first time last night and had such a fantastic evening. The food was incredible! We shared starter plates (brie wedges, aubergine dip, greek sausage) and couldn't stop eating them. The aubergine dip in particular was outstanding. I was actually worried I may have overdone it, but I had no problems completely finishing my main... I got steak with potatoes, beans and spinach. The sirloin steak was the best I have ever had and the potatoes and veg were beautifully cooked too. Was absolutely stuffed, but got some tiramisu to split between four of us as we couldn't leave without trying a dessert here. I'm normally not a big coffee fan, but i've never had tiramisu like this before - so light and subtle. This is a truly splendid restaurant. The owner pours his heart into the food and makes you feel like the most important customer in the world. He made a real fuss of me for my birthday. The kids loved to chat to him about his recipes. The food was absolutely excellent. We had lamb, a steak and a couple of pasta dishes, all were amazing. I loved when he said he'd made a little side salad for us and it was a meal in itself with beetroot and radishes and a lovely balsamic dressing. Booked the restaurant for a birthday party and everyone had a fab time. Rubik customised the menu for us and gave options for non-meaters (salmon). We had roast lamb (very soft and tender), cauliflower cheese, chicken pasta (this was a surprise favourite as my family normally are not pasta fans), roast potatoes and brocoli.
