Extremely Disappointing Dinner Experience at Rosetta N16
I had the unfortunate opportunity to dine here last night, and I feel compelled to share my deeply underwhelming experience. From the lackluster food to the abysmal service, this evening was nothing short of a culinary disaster.
Let me start with the garlic bread, or should I say "garlic disappointment." It was dry and devoid of any discernible garlic or olive oil. I had high hopes for a flavorful and aromatic starter, but instead, I was left with a tasteless, cardboard-like creation that did nothing to whet my appetite.
The truffle pastas were disappointing. Soggy noodles soaked in a watery sauce left me questioning the chef's competence. The promised truffle was nonexistent, reducing the dish to a dismal mess on my plate. It was a disheartening reminder that even seemingly simple dishes can go terribly wrong.
To add insult to injury, the zucchini and fried calamari suffered the same fate. Dry and lacking any semblance of flavor, these appetizers were a sad excuse for what should have been crispy and succulent delights. It was as if the kitchen deliberately sought to drain every drop of moisture from these poor ingredients, resulting in an unpleasant texture and an utter lack of taste.
While the food alone would have been enough to warrant a scathing review, the service proved to be equally deplorable. Our waitress, while friendly and smiley, spent an exorbitant amount of time in the kitchen, engrossed in her personal entertainment courtesy of the kitchen staff's phones. It was disheartening to witness her lack of attention to the dining room, as she ignored my attempts to get her attention for condiments and the bill, even resorting to calling out loudly to no avail. Instead of focusing on her responsibilities, she found amusement in giggling with her colleagues, who seemed equally disinterested in providing any sort of attentive service.
To my dismay, her colleagues and herself decided it was appropriate to occupy a table in the dining room, all the while indulging in their own meals and engrossed in their phones. Meanwhile, I sat there, raising my hand like an afterthought, feeling utterly abandoned and overlooked. The blatant disregard for the customers was infuriating and disrespectful.
I was lured to this restaurant by its seemingly impressive ratings, but now I realize that they are nothing more than a misleading facade. Perhaps their pizzas are their saving grace, but that doesn't excuse the abysmal experience I endured. To pay £44 for a meal devoid of alcohol and only one main course in exchange for such disappointment is simply unacceptable.
I strongly advise against dining there if you have any expectations of a satisfying culinary experience. Save your time, money, and taste buds, and seek out a dining establishment that truly values its patrons.
