I’ve seen this place a few times but never ventured in until today. Is it a pub, gastropub or bar? Maybe the latter, but it’s a very smart yet informal establishment. The ground floor bar is light and airy and the blonde member of staff who greeted me (apologies for not asking her name) had the warmest, most welcoming smile ever! Also great service levels while serving drinks and delivering food to all customers. Five craft beers from the London-based ā€˜The Goodness Brewing Company’ were on offer. I thoroughly enjoyed my pint of Session IPA before the train journey home. The basement bar, discovered when visiting the toilets, was a very attractive space. I imagine that this is available for event hire? Didn’t dine here but the food looked great. Would definitely return.

We booked this place for our work xmas lunch. Our host was lovely, but the server kept forgetting to bring us sauces and drinks but we were quite a large group. The area allocated to us was great. It was private and away from the noise. The food was very average- I had the vegetarian option from the xmas menu and everything lacked flavour. The dessert was a little dry. Having said that I will drop by to try something from the a La Carte menu

A hidden gem just steps from St. Paul's! The Lamb and Trotter offers a fantastic selection of beers at very reasonable prices, making it a great choice whether you're popping in after work or exploring the area. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the location couldn't be better-right in the heart of the City. If you're looking for a good pint without breaking the bank, this place is spot on.

I was in here with colleagues for a drink before going out to dinner. I’m a wheelchair user but as the bar was busy I stood with my wheelchair behind me in case I needed to sit suddenly (which does happen as my legs can give way). A barman (who claimed to be the manager) tried to climb over my wheelchair rather than walk round. When I told him not to he told me I had to move my wheelchair as I was a ā€œfire hazardā€. When I called him out on it he said I could move my wheelchair out of the way. When I explained why I needed it need me he had absolutely NO empathy and told me that because I’d got cross with him I should leave. My colleague (who is a large guy) told him just to walk round, but he then said he’d refuse to serve me because I’d got cross with him at the way he’d treated me. He should try being in a wheelchair and maybe he’d understand my anger. I’ve only been in a wheelchair for 2 years and nobody thinks they will experience a life changing event. People should have...

At around 1645 on 01 November 2024, I sat down at the left end of the bar for a pint on my way to the airport. A sole male barman insisted I come down to the central area of the bar to order, despite having a suitcase and a large bag with me, because "that was the bar area". When I pointed out that I was sat directly in front of a till, so that must be the bar area too, he relented and served me. After completing the transaction, he told me I'd have to come to the central bar area in future and when I again pointed out I was at the bar and directly in front of a till and had a suitcase and a bag with me, he refused to serve me again. Terrible customer service; he expected me to move and carry my bags along a busy bar just so he didn't have to walk the length of the bar area to serve me. Won't be back and probably needs reminding he works in the...
