Following an intensive start to a long day trip to London, we come across this lovely little pub. Spacious and a comfortable atmosphere a perfect stop for our lunch. There were 2 adults and a child in our party and even though there was no childrens menu as per normal the staff were happy to accommodate a smaller meal for the little one. I proceed to order a nice and simple steak and chips while my sister has a chicken dish. Food arrived well presented and looks very appetising.

My 5 year old niece tucked into a lovely sausage and mash dinner while my sister dug around the chicken skin to eat the chicken, she doesn't like skin but still enjoyed the meal.

Onto my meal, I tuck into the chips and they seem to have been stood and re-heated and the steak was tough as old boots, I couldn't cut the steak with a knife let alone chew it. The chips were at least edible and I ate them but had to leave the steak. I would have probable enjoyed a mcdonalds more even though I do not rate their meals as any good. Waitress came to take our plates away and I do the typical British thing and not complain, not that I would in front of kids, but the waitress persisted and I make a passing comment on the steak and without hesitation the waitress immediately removes the meal from our bill. I have since been reliably informed that it is hard to find a decent steak in London and will certainly do my research next time.

If the waitress did not remove the steak this would have left a sour taste and a 1 star review, but since the staff are excellent and it was only my meal with the issues hence the 3 star review. Would I have another meal here? Yes but I would order the...

Repeated caught staff over changing for drinks. In a busy pub its easy to make mistakes but this was a scam, and to be caught out and robbed by a barman looking to make a skim of the drinks order, spoilt a lovely evening drinks. When confronted twice the barman denied he had overcharged and tried to convince me I was wrong and had drinks that I hadn't had. Eventually I had to call everyone I was with to bring over their drinks to prove him wrong, then still the cocky arrogant barman acted like he was doing me a favour! Then later ordered 2 drinks and a plate of French fries and was charged ÂŁ39.00 and was told it was a for other food I didn't have, I had enough. If you want to be short changed, conned or robbed in broad daylight. then you couldn't find anywhere more capable of doing that, than the crook that infests and spoils this little city boozer! Get a receipt and check your change or card machine as they are doing it on an industrial scale! #Avoid...

We held a work event here in April and would thoroughly recommend this venue. We had around 50 attendees and were given "The Snug" area which is at the back. This was absolutely perfect for us. We all absolutely loved the food platters, and we were looked after beautifully by Daria and her team.

The chef and other staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, and when we wanted to order more platters and desserts on the night, they did everything they could to provide what we wanted at short notice.

On the organisational side, I was assisted all the way through by Giulia, who helped me choose the most suitable function room for our event, and was instrumental in the planning of the event.

We were all super happy with every aspect of the hospitality and venue as a whole, and will certainly be returning.

A big thank you to all of you at The...

Young's / the paternoster has the best breakfast in the area and probably amongst the best full English breakfast I've ever had. Eggs were perfect, poached or fried, black pudding was good without being greasy, the bacon is crispy and tasty, the beans (something i usually skip) are special to the pub and worth trying, a proper slice of sourdough toast with butter, the pork and apple sausages are good, even the most basic of mushrooms and grilled tomatoes are well done - even the decaf lattes were good. No complaints, friendly staff and generally a quiet place to eat. There was one occasion where the staff were dragging around all the tables and rearranging the furniture while we were eating but they did apologise profusely afterwards. Well worth a visit and if you are in the area at breakfast time, an absolute must.

I had a GREAT night at Paternoster (St. Paul). I initially planned to propose to my girlfriend at another place, but it did not open. Then, I found a pub located at a beautiful aisle beside St. Paul Cathedral. I walked in Paternoster, and mentioned my plan to the staff there. They are VERY friendly and efficiently helped me to make a reservation and showed me around the environment there so that I can modify my plan. Then, when the day came, my friends and I, around 20 people, had a great night there. If you want to spend a night to have good beers with good friends and ask your girlfriend to become your wife, Paternoster will be the perfect place to complete your three wishes at once. I am sincerely grateful to the staff in Paternoster. :) THANKS.
