Food and customer service is great but store standard isn't. Went on a busy morning and we were fortunate to find parking across the road. We were greeted and seated quickly. We asked if they took card payment. Answer was no. The table we sat at on the side of the counter was wobbly. Coz of where we were seated, we saw quite a bit of the unpleasant side. Firstly, with all the staff on duty, there was no work uniform. Couple of times we mistook customers for staff only to find out later that those customers were going to the bathroom. The staff were doing a bit of everything instead of having one or two assigned roles. As a result, a lot of orders were wrong. Countless times we witnessed discussion amongst staff as to what was going where. Some had come back from tables. With the amount of tables in the shop, having them numbered would make life easier. Worse thing we witnessed: There was a lot of stuff on the floor just behind the counter where we seated. One chap started tidying before being sidetracked. He went onto resume his cleaning duties, picking up salt and pepper sachets, tissues etc off the floor, then using a brush before using a bit of cardboard to gather it and then emptying it in the bin. All this was done with bare hands. He didn't wash hands when he was called earlier and he went onto his next task without washing his hands which included handling food! There is a sink right behind the counter as you enter the corridor leading to kitchen and bathroom area. There was no excuse not to use it. Fortunately we had someone else serve our food. We were updated and were told when our meals will be ready. But, even on a table of 2, there was a delay between plates arriving. Anything we asked for while we were eating was catered for well and dealt with quickly. All the staff were polite generally. Everything that came out of the kitchen (keema, omelette, masala beans etc) was well presented, generous in portion, piping hot and tasty. Shame the other things let it down. Will probably visit again for the food as there's not many places like this around but hopefully there's a big improvement in standards. Will update review if it does improve.

Good idea to serve with a blend of english and desi breakfast but menu is not well thought. I wanted desi breakfast with halwa puri and cholay and couldn’t find an option and set meal options were not flexible, ended up ordering 2 portions which i could not finish. I did ask the guy who eats puri with an egg but not halwa and he promptly replied “i do” and no consideration to accommodate customer. Later another customer complained that his orange juice has more ice than juice and he goes and i quote “may be” and walked away which even i could witness. In a nut shell poor service. On the taste side of things, i was disappointed. Peas were more on the sweet side, maybe to cater english market. Halwa was nice and puri’s were not up to the mark or didn’t even taste like puri. Tea had cream surfacing on the top and wan’t proper hot and didn’t taste fresh. Will i go back again? Big NO. Can stand bad taste to fill up the tummy but not rude person serving. RE: after owner’s reply. Thanks for looking into feedback. You should not assume that customer does not want to pay. Seems like you are missing the point. Places have weekend menus for weekend dishes so there is an idea for you for free. Looks like you did not read my comment properly nor you looked at the pictures. I was there over the weekend and ordered halwa along with chanay so got what i wanted but i was surprised that you don’t cater them both under one menu. Just to eat what i felt like i ended up ordering 10 puri’s. Does it make sense? If i was concerned about price i would not have ordered, but you won’t get this. Never mind. Same mind set as your waiters, not valuing customer.

EDIT: So I insinuated on something that I don’t have proof on so I agree with the restaurants response, without proof it’s slander so I will put my hands up here and therefore removed that portion from my review, the remaining original review and rating stands. —— Came here on a lazy Sunday afternoon for brunch with the Mrs. The place is Cash Only which is an annoyance, I rarely return to cash only places unless the food is exceptional, they were good, so it’s a maybe. The place was full of families, couples with young families, servers were polite, and they have baby high chairs. Food was good, I enjoyed my desi Nashta, but they only had omelette and no scrambled eggs, which is weird considering it’s just a different way of cooking the same ingredients. The puri’s were nice, and so was the keema. The masala chips is always a favourite of mine but these seem a little too tangy to finish the portion. The omelette was dry, and nothing special, the masala hot chocolate was really nice, and they let us upgrade to it by paying an extra pound. Masala coffee, was a little too bitter, but my wife said it was better last time she came. Chana was good, but maybe I’ll try the beans next time. All in all a good place for breakfast, prices are reasonable. The omelette situation let them down again, but will give them a try again and hope I can increase the review from 3/5 to 4/5 at the very least.

This restaurant is new, but lacks the basic warmth and ambiance that's is required to create a warm and inviting place to eat. There is nothing cosy about this place, a real shame as it has the potential to be amazing, I like the concept. As I walked in there, I felt like walking out... However I didn't... Thought I would give the place a chance since it is new and the food might blow me away... Once I received the menu this made matters far worse, I could not understand the menu, or the food options. The menu options are limited and confusing. I am very familiar with Indian food and did not recognise anything on the menu... The menu lacks a proper description of what will be served. I spoke with the staff and ordered what they advised, it took a long time for the food to come out, which felt like an absolute age, especially since there was no atmosphere in the restaurant and the dining area was freezing, also the menu is very limited, so not sure what took so long? Once the food arrived, I was quite disappointed... While it was generally tasty, and well flavoured, the food wasn't piping hot, the chips came out cold, the overall dining experience was quite poor. My children also did not enjoy the experience. They managed to get a basic mango lassi wrong, while this was rectified quickly, there are some bigger issues they need to get right, including the menu. I think the place has an identity crisis, it can't quite make its mind up on what it wants to be. The menu options are definitely confusing. Is this place somewhere I go for food or is it simply a waffle and ice cream place? Feels like the owners are only willing to half dip their toe in the water on this venture... Seriously if the owners had any sense they would replicate what already works really successfully, think 'Vijays Chawalla' on Green St, if I am honest, given the name of this place I genuinely thought the food options would be similar. If they tweaked the menu options, sorted out the dining room and employed experience and knowledgeable staff, the owners could be on to a winner. Only difference being is they serve veg and non veg... But what do I know? I'm just a...

I've been to this establishment twice and both times I walked away highly unsatisfied. The service is appalling, one of the worst I've ever received. The staff seem to not care/don't know what to do on all occasions.

The restaurant decor is simple and nice but always messy. Food is left on the tables from the customers that have left and staff only clear when another customer needs the table. Highly inefficient and doesn't look appealing walking into a messy restaurant.

Menu is decent with a good selection of desi / normal breakfasts. However, when ordering, don't expect to have your order taken in interest. The girl looked like it was a burden to take my order.

Be prepared to spend a long time for food. Both times the food took forever to come. Granted, the first time the place was busy but second time, everyone else had got their food and it still took 40 mins to get the food. And once we did get the food, no cutlery to eat the food! And when looking to call someone, everyone was hiding at the back in the kitchen and when they did come out, they seemed shocked when I asked them for a knife and fork. The tea came right at the end of the meal which was even more annoying. However! The food is nice and is the only redeeming factor for this place.

Overall, it's obvious that the owners/staff need a lesson on customer service because it's frustraiting through the whole experience. The food is good but waiting an hour for breakfast and the bad service would mean that this will be my last time going there. A good service doesn't cost anything and will help them a long way. It's a shame as they had a huge potential but the lack of decent service really puts me...
