After a long day at work I decided to stop there for dinner on a Monday evening by myself. As I get to and from the office by motorcycle I was casually dressed. I entered and was greeted by a fairly cold "how can I help" by a 40 year old thin Italian gentleman who seemed to assume I must have been a deliveroo driver. He proceeded to show me to a table and gave me a menu. I chose jumbo prawns. Papardelle with lamb ragu a glass of red and a coke to quench my thirst. After a few minutes and feeling (or being made felt like I didn't belong there) the same waiter plonked the starter on the corner of my table without a word and walked right off. Slightly off putting but I was tired and just wanted to try my food prawns were ok. As I finished again same gentlemen took away my dish without a word. I noticed how different was his interaction at other tables of regulars which only confirmed what I already knew. Waited quite a while for my papardelle as the restaurant slowly emptied from most tables and my new waiter friend seemed like he ensured to completely ignore me as he walked by my table several times and knew I was waiting for quite a while. My papardelle was then served by one of the commis waitress who seemed to not speak a word of English but understand the basic request. I finished, waiter dropped dessert menu on the corner of my table without a word... again. Waited several minutes as I tried to grab his attention to order dessert but no totally ignored again! Commis waitress came to the rescue and I ordered "homemade tiramisu" by the way that tiramisu is absolutely and categorically not homemade that's industrially made tiramisu but at that point I had enough. I asked for the bill as my waiter who seemed to be responsible for the service never actually even spoke to me and gave me a very bad attitude. I asked to be charged the 48.70 of the bill which didn't include the service charge and this was done. As I suspected my snooty bad attitude Italian guy ignored me totally as I walked out in silence ( the waitress apologised when I paid as I think she was aware of why I asked to remove the service). That being said this gentleman needs to curb his attitude problem this is london and not naples and this happens to be kensington and not soho. If you only cater to the locals in gucci loafers that's fine but I surely won't be stopping by again to spend 50 quid on dinner after work in my office (which happens to be just around the corner)... bad attitude bad service ok food. Not...

I’m pretty frustrated that I am forced to edit my original 5 star review down to 3 stars. My last visit to Maurizo Barca was a huge let down.
I left a note with my table booking that I was visiting with my partner celebrating our anniversary as this was the first ever restaurant we went on a date in. No effort was made to make it a special occasion for us (not every restaurant does so I can’t get too hung up on that)
The Burrata quality has gone down to below supermarket quality. It was dry & bland, served with lettuce instead of rocket, and had just ONE baby tomato cut into four small pieces. What’s happened guys?
When I confronted the waiter (who appeared to be new) I was met with no apologies and told “you should have asked me what is came with so you wouldn’t be disappointed”, followed up by “I’m just the waiter. I told the chefs we shouldn’t be serving it like this but they didn’t listen” What sort of customer service is that? I was essentially blamed for picking it.
That being said, the pasta and dessert quality has been unchanged and tasted delicious.
Original 5 star review:
Loved it. Nice and cozy environment. Staff were absolutely fabulous.
The food tasted great. Pasta was well cooked and well flavoured. Just the right portion size too. Everything was well presented and impressive. And quite frankly, whoever made that tiramisu deserves an award. That was by far the best one I’ve ever had.
The small garden area in the back was a cute touch. The table size was small and a little cramped, but it added to the overall vibe. It’s a cute and cozy restaurant, perfect for a late night dinner with a loved one.
Thank you...

Upon entering the restaurant, they asked him to move his protective cap. They explained they have a policy for everyone to remove hats, which is reasonable and if it wasn’t for my husband’s disability, we would have no problem removing his cap, however we brought proof of my husband’s disability and explained to them that by law businesses should make a reasonable adjustments for people with disabilities. Despite explaining this to them they still refuse. The manager refused and so did the waitress. The head chef came out and they were all extremely rude. It was quite embarrassing because it’s bad enough that my husband suffers from this condition but then to be gyrated in front of the restaurant, they made a massive scene out of it. I mean, it’s a disgrace.
People with disabilities should be welcomed everywhere and it’s not fair that because my husband has a disability he wasn’t able to eat in that restaurant that night that is not fair and that is why the human rights laws are in place. I will definitely be taking this further.
The restaurant needs to reconsider their policy and make sure that is in line with the law on discrimination.
So for my experience that I will not recommend and I will actually be going on a campaign to ensure this does not happen to any other disabled person again in...
