I was excited to try this Indian restaurant based on a colleagues recommendation, but I left more frustrated than satisfied. The menu’s handful of veggie dishes felt like an afterthought, with limp vegetable curry and bland dal that seemed underseasoned. Worse still, the starters, like samosas, tasted like they’d been pulled straight from freezer bags at the local supermarket. When I asked, the staff actually confirmed they rely on pre-frozen supermarket products rather than making anything in-house.

On the bright side, the front-of-house team was friendly and attentive. Drinks arrived promptly, and our server was polite and apologetic when I pointed out issues with the food. Their genuine effort to accommodate dietary restrictions and handle complaints courteously did not prevent this visit from being a total disaster.

Maya is our local go to Indian takeaway we always order from here as the food is always lovely. I hate to complain but Tonight I have to say I was a little disappointed when the food arrived. My partners dish (chicken tikka masala) was as you’d expect and everything else we ordered was spot on… I ordered the chicken tikka shashlik, which I have had before and it was really nice, however this time it appeared to be missing an ingredient. The chicken, onions, peppers and tomato were all in the container but the sauce was missing so it Was more like a starter than a curry!.. I was really looking forward to it as well..
