Melange — Restaurant in London

Unfortunately even with a nice décor and decent service.,, the food for me was a disaster.. if I have to eat a bland dry avocado mash with with no basic ingredients like salt or pepper olive oil, I could have done it for way lower price at home .. please ask your chef to go and try avocado mash at May be like Orpington GPO and upgrade his recipe ! Disappointed by the lack of cafe standard food compared to other restaurant on street .. hardly will be costing them again !! ———— In response to your response, yes I did provide the feedback to your staff, visited after Feb 2023, since I also needed to have salt pepper in the mash to make it eatable. I don’t give bad review just for sake it. That’s my experience which I conveyed and on that day your waiters did not really take action on it except giving me salt m pepper. It would have been nice to not invalidate a feedback since I am basing this based on my experience and I don’t believe in food wastage so I did eat it but it was not a brunch I would leave my house for next time. I would love to support local restaurants, and not see it go down like so many others. it would be humble of a restaurant to take a feedback and act on it so that you can make loyal customers ! First visit to Melange, both of us hungry and to get out of rain. Nicely decorated restaurant with lots of space. My daughter had the ME special with flatbread and a huge salad bowl of leaves, ham, feta, croutons, tomatoes, and cucumber. Also, I wilted spinach on top which she really enjoyed! Said it was all yummy and delicious! I had the light breakfast - eggs, halloumi, tomato, olives, avocado, and smoked salmon. 1 slice of brown toast. Salmon was disappointing; not presented in nice slices (yeah I'm fussy) and a few bits grey. So, 1 star less for that and the lemonade. Asked for home made but think it was sprite?? Otherwise a nice place for lunch and lots to choose...

We came out for a furniture hunt in Orpington from London and got a bit hungry. We initially were looking to go to an Italian restaurant nearby but it was closed.
