A fantastic neighbourhood curry stalwart. My friends and I recently met up for a revival of our curry club. The night initially started at a gentle pace with cobras and poppadoms flowing. If I’m honest, mains took a while to come out but this additional time was spent in great conversation. Any reservations about the dining experience quickly disappeared as the quality of food was the star of the night. Fish tank is a nice touch, if you call ahead they can organise a table of up to four people sitting next to it. Overall I would highly recommend. Give it a try.

We ordered chaat masala, Meg mix, vindaloo chicken and Bombay aloo, which all taste great! Vindaloo is my favourite and if you love spicy curry this is a must try! Meg mix tastes tender but still has a thick flavour. The starter chaat masala chicken is not so spicy as suggested on the menu, but is tasty and really appetising. Bombay aloo is again not spicy but quite fully spiced. Mango lassis is not so sweet (which is good!) and thick. Popadoms is a must in every Indian restaurant hahaha! staff are very friendly. Would definitely come back! 😁😁😁

Very good food at a very reasonable price, especially given how expensive restaurants tend to be in this area. The place is rarely crowded, I've always immediately got a seat without reservation. The service is extremely good, the staff polite and friendly. Monday - Wednesday they have an offer where you can get a five course meal for £15.

The fact that the the place was completely empty on a Sunday evening should have been a big red flag. The starters were fine but our mains were the sweetest versions of saag paneer and chicken tikka masala I’ve ever had. Everything honestly tasted like dessert versions of these dishes. Even the garlic naan was ridiculously sweet. When we asked why everything was so sweet they told us that the dishes we ordered had milk and cream which made them sweet. We said that never in all our years eating this food had we ever had anything taste like someone had just poured sugar into everything. The manager, who had originally said he would take 10 percent off our order. But then seemed to get annoyed that we said his food was too sweat then didn’t actually take any money off our meal and we ended up paying full price for our disgusting food, most of which we left uneaten. If you like chicken tikka masala that tastes like someone dumped a bowl of sugar in it and everything else you get extremely sweet then definitely check this place out. Otherwise, I recommend avoiding it like everyone else who wasn’t dining there when were there and find somewhere...

Update from NOVEMBER 2023. New management have now displaced replacement chef and appointed talented newcomer, who is not wedded to inexorable chilli, and appreciates the subtle potential of traditional spicing. In association with the vision of the excellent manager (an intelligent and diligently local man into organic vegetables that he cultivated himself) is steering it back to its best. How it used to be? Read on..... “Great place! Incredibly delicious Indian food, carefully prepared and cooked to suit your taste. Beautifully presented in a stylish environment (an old Victorian pub that has had a thoughtful makeover). The staff are great guys who really want you to enjoy the experience of the meal. We have gone with different friends and family, and all come away amazed at the quality and very fair pricing. We had lunch there last Sunday and it was an under £20 bill for two of us eating eight fantastic dishes! This is a restaurant in Islington to find and celebrate!” (Though prices might have necessarily climbed a little, we are delighted to report that this could be a...
