I am appauled that the land lady of this pub judged and treated my mate, who has a disability, in the manner she did. My mate has a medical condition and was asked to leave because she failed to notice his disantavantage. When expkained to the landlady, she still said she would ask him to leave again. I've never experienced such blatant discrimination. I am very dissapointed with her narrow minded attitude.she said why didn't his friend something at the time, he didnt say anything because any landlord or landlady would know it takes more than 20 seconds to do a line of cocaine if he was doing cocaine he would have been rolling around the pub and being loud and boisterous, we were sat at bar watchingng the darts talking to the barmaid who was a lovely girl, i hope people read this and avoid the place because i shall never visit t this place ever again, and to end it all the lock on the toilet door didnt have a lock on it so you couldn't have a line anyway. Read moreThis pub is brilliant fun and I love going there. The staff are lovely and always have a friendly manner. It's always very clean and the toilets are immaculate filled with little treats for the ladies like Clarins and Vichy. The entertainment is outstanding as every Wednesday afternoon they have traditional Irish music which is very enjoyable and customers also join in on the singing. They also have a young man who plays guitar once a month, Fridays mostly and he is amazing. I was quite offended to read the review about the condoms and needles outside the front door. This is a very busy high street and if this kind of carry on was taking place it would not go unnoticed. As a regular to Toolans I can only assume the person who left that review was a disgruntled customer as i have been going there for years and never saw any...
Read moreA typical hole in the wall Irish boozer. Looks rough and ready from the outside, but incredibly warm and welcoming once inside. I've frequented this pub 4 times over the last 3 weeks, new to the area, and I'm always greeted with a smile and a "how are you?". Staff beyond attentive. Even though it's now service as usual, I've not had to leave my seat, 4 different bar staff spotting my pint almost finished and asking if I'd like another. I've eaten here twice and both the traditional stew, and salt beef sandwich are excellent, and well priced. It's very much a "local" bar...and that's not a bad thing. Barely anyone actually needs to order, the attentive staff knowing what their regulars...
