Finchley Café – Second Visit, Much Improved ★★★★☆ (4.25/5 Overall – Rounded to 4 Stars) I came in last Sunday for just a tea and left a 3-star review not bad, just felt rushed. Staff were a bit too eager and didn’t give me a moment to settle before taking my order. This week, I came back to try both the tea and the food and overall, I’m glad I did. The experience this time was noticeably better and felt more balanced. ★ Food – ★★★★☆ (4/5) The full English was enjoyable. Everything was served hot and cooked to preference. They also catered to my custom requests, which I appreciated. Minor downside: the Cumberland sausage was slightly pink in the middle in my view, it could’ve used another minute on the grill. Because of that, I left half. That aside, toast portions were generous (borderline too much), and the beans whether Heinz or not tasted great. It’s a solid breakfast and worth coming for. ★ Service – ★★★★☆ (4/5) Better than last week. Still a bit fast-paced, but not as rushed. Staff are attentive, polite, and on point. You ask, you get. I can’t really fault them they do a good job. ★ Atmosphere – ★★★★½ (4.5/5) Both times I’ve visited, it’s been busy and that usually tells you something. There’s a good local vibe, friendly feel, and a steady flow of regulars. It’s not too noisy or too quiet just a solid café setting that clearly has loyal customers. ★ Value for Money – ★★★★½ (4.5/5) They do a reasonable job of keeping things fair while still using decent ingredients. £12 for a full breakfast with tea feels okay, especially considering London prices and rising business costs. £1.50 for a tea on its own is fair too. You’re not being ripped off, and the quality doesn’t feel cut. Respectable value here. Final Rating Breakdown: • Food: ★★★★☆ (4/5) • Service: ★★★★☆ (4/5) • Atmosphere: ★★★★½ (4.5/5) • Value: ★★★★½ (4.5/5) ★ Total Score: 17/20 ★ Average Rating: 4.25 → Rounded to ★★★★☆ (4 Stars) Conclusion: Finchley Café redeemed itself on this second visit. Good food, friendly service, great local buzz, and fair pricing. It’s not perfect, but it’s a very solid spot and I’d happily come back again.

Family owned since 1988? You can tell, as they are so rightly proud of this well run cafe. Clean and plentiful seating (40+ seats), with clean toilet for patrons. Wide-ranging menu. Ordered the ‘set 4’ breakfast, and which was served piping hot and was absolutely delicious! Had more breakfasts that I can count at cafes and this was one of the best. Staff welcoming and friendly and engage in conversation readily. Will be sure to visit again next time I’m in North Finchley.

Very generous portions and good prices. The staff is very friendly. We were served very quickly. Unfortunately it is cash only, but there is an ATM around the corner. Although there were many customers, it was pretty quiet as everybody was enjoying their meal.

A proper family cafe run by some of the nicest people you'll meet. This place is at the heart of the local community and you can see that by the way the staff interact with all of their customers, resulting in a super warm and friendly atmosphere.

The amazing service is not let down by the food either. The full English is always 5⭐, with good quality ingredients cooked well. They also offer a wide variety of all the cafe classics all at a very reasonable price.

Couldn't recommend this place enough and feel lucky to have a great cafe such as this...
