We arrived at 6:30 (as advertised online) to closed doors. The restaraunt is apparently starts working at 7:30 for booked guests only.
P.S.: I am editing my comment after seeing the response from the owner/manager.
As a tourist who came to London for the first time and didn't have a chance to try your food due to reasons explained above, I rated your promptness, politeness and correct 'opening hours' section. Unfortunately, your rude, unprofessional response over the phone, which I didn't want to mention in first place, didn't leave me with many options.
It's interesting how you prefer to refer to client's nationality, even though you've never seen them face to face. I really think it’s a very questionable and dangerous thing to do. You clearly have some strong bias towards ths nation and you are not afraid to publicly state those. Wow! I personally rate people's actions, hospitality, service, quality when I am in a position of a customer. I recommend you at least trying to stick to these principles; it may lead you to beneficial personal and business outcomes if you simply don't immediately refer to one's nationality when there is a situation that you dont agree with.
Lastly, you called myself Russian, which is simply not true. Russian regime invaded my county in 2014, therefore I had to leave and seek for a safe new home overseas.
Another thing that you assumed in your response is when you mentioned that we spent 15 minutes on our phones. Yes, it's true - as a typical tourist in a new location we had to simply find a new place to eat. After spending a full day in London, exploring all the major destinations, and walking 7 KMs+, we were hoping to simply enjoy a Georgian dinner, and the fact that we had to find a new restaraunt, make reservation, etc was not exactly what we planned on doing.
You could have replied "I apologize, I will fix the working hours section to ensure my customers are not misled in the future". Instead you chose a different approach. Oh well...
P.S.: I bet Russians who escaped the regime would also "enjoy" reading your comments about mentality. Perhaps try being nice with the customers, serve good food and fix your advertisement given that it's srill clearly stated on Google 'open'...
Read moreOh, where to start. I love Georgian cuisine and hospitality and was so much looking forward to coming there. I was a bit worried after I read the reaction of the owner to someone’s not complimentary review but I thought everyone can have a bad day. But there seems to be a real issue with the owner’s attitude to his guests. I personally experienced it and I felt as if I came to his house uninvited and should be ashamed of my unreasonable expectations of food being served at the right temperature and on time and the dirty plates and glasses being taken away. The food was good enough albeit a bit different compared to the authentic meals you can find in Tbilisi: looked like most of the starters were the processed versions of the originals. However, what I will remember is a cold shashlik which I ate while other guests where still waiting for their course coming, the only waiter available for the entire restaurant who (no wonder) kept forgetting what he was asked, and the owner explaining in a raised voice to the guests why the main meal was not served on time and demanding to take it away and pay. With the entire menu having been pre-agreed way in advance, to find ourselves waiting for the main hot meal and then hearing from the waiter: “Did you order them?”, telling him not to worry about it as it was too late (given that we started at 7 pm and it was around 10 pm by then) and then finding a number of doggy-boxes with that hot meal at the counter waiting for payment, together with the side dish from the other course(!), which have also not been served on time or even mentioned to us - was a bit overwhelming. Some serious consideration should be given to the service and the...
Read moreTonight was without a shadow of a doubt the worst restaurant experience I've had in London. Myself and 5 friends came here hoping to enjoy Georgian food, because all of us had had great experiences with Georgian food both in Georgia itself and Central Asia. I can't even explain enough what a disappointment this restaurant was. We weren't served for 20 minutes and then when we were, we were told that it wasn't possible to have either the khachapuri or the khinkali, which were the dishes we wanted. After some exceptional diplomacy from JJM, we agreed with the waiter that we would have our eggy boat breads in 45 minutes. This, of course, is a completely unreasonably time but we were being generous. You can imagine how annoyed we were when of course our food didn't materialise (because the waiter had lied to us) and we had spent money on wine and other food we didn't even want. We were then told the kitchen was 'too busy' to serve us, even though the restaurant was only half full. I also appreciated how the couple next to us were obviously prioritised over us - it's a true miracle when you see dishes you were told you couldn't order materialising at other tables. I look forward to the no doubt obnoxious response from the restaurant (which would be true to form on every other bad review), but at the end of the day if you lie to your customers and spectacularly fail to deliver any of the dishes they ask for then how can you expect a good review? Also I personally appreciated the real audacity to ask for the service charge - cheers to you - like my esteemed colleague JJM, I also wouldn't let my...
