I've been to mooboo a few times and services were good. But the last couple of times it seems they have employed someone who is very loud and rude. So I'm a NHS student and I kindly asked if they do student discount (as they don't advertise it like they do with their other posters and their TV monitor was off. The lady that served me said yes but she already put the original price on the till, just watching me as though I must accept when CLEARLY I can get it discounted lol. I've worked in retail previously for 8 years so this is no hard problem to solve.
So I stood there while she's watching me, waiting for her to rectify the order as I'm the only customer at the time (took a long 15 secs - awkward). The rude loud lady at the back said "yes we do student discount but next time say it earlier!". This store seems to be the only one that has a problem with me saying that I'm a student (without advertisement). Sadly, this is the second time they treated me this way. Simply because I stated I was a student. If you don't ask you won't receive right? But don't take it out on me because you chose to do student discounts. What makes it worse is that it was the 2nd time I've mentioned I was a student. Before that, there was NO problems. As much as I like the drinks, I won't be coming back. My time (despite working 12 hour shifts looking after people) and hard earned money does not deserve to be in this tiny shop anymore.
The loud lady (and the ONLY one loud lady) needs to tone it down and improve her customer service. If you don't like it, find another job that don't do...

There is currently a groupon offer, 2 drinks for £3.50 (and I note from their fb that there is a buy 1 get 1 free offer) so off my party went to this place yesterday after lunch.
The ladies at the counter are very friendly, both speaking Mandarin but with good English also. The groupon code was a bit fiddly but they managed it.
The drinks tasted pretty nice and even a regular cup looks quite big. I had the lychee drink with tapioca pearls in it. I think they told us we can choose the one ingredient in the cup without extra charge.
Moment of truth - the tapioca pearls does taste a little bit sweet, which it should do. It has a chewy taste to it but the outer part of the pearl feels a little too "melted". I think this may be because the footfall here is not as good as Chatime and so the pearls may have been sitting in liquid for a bit too long, causing this to happen. Nevertheless, it is pretty close and I wouldn't mind buying another groupon and going back really! At £1.75 I don't mind slightly soggy outer tapioca pearls!
They do try to be creative with the drinks, there is the panda drink which is oreo flavoured, and the yakult original or strawberry yakult flavour. Had a quick taste of the yakult but didn't like it that much, tasted a bit too watery to me. No complaints about the lychee...

The staff was screaming and shouting at me because after receiving my drink that was made incorrectly and tasting awful, I told her it was not right. She then proceeded to continually disrespect me, shouting and yelling at me, telling me to call the police until my friend who was waiting in the car got worried and came in to the shop. As soon as she saw my friend who is 20 years older than me, she got scared but she still did not offer any solution. She must have thought I was quite young and could get away with treating me in this way. Her behavior was shocking & I was with my friends 10year old son who began to cry. They refused to refund us for our drinks, we left them there because we didn’t trust any of the staff to make our drinks after this experience. No manner, no courtesy, cold and angry staff that take no pride in providing nice tasting drinks. I will be taking this matter further with Camden authorities because this is actually abuse as well as the top management of Moo boo franchising because they are terribly ruining the brand image.
