I usually choose this place to get coffee on the go as I try to support local businesses, but after today’s experience I will support a different local coffee shop.
I got to One Shot Coffee at around 8.30am as I had a power cut in my area and needed a place to work for a couple of hours. I explained the situation to the female owner and she said it was fine. I then asked for my drink, paid and the owner asked me to take a seat. I was just about to seat down and I hear her shouting that a card declined, she was shouting repeatedly so I looked over she was shouting at me all the way across the shop! The place was full of people and this was so embarrassing after she asked me to seat. I went over and just paid with the same card by the way!
I will never step foot in this place and will ensure that my neighbours know about the appalling owner behaviour! So rude and embarrassing! Not welcoming!
On top of this, the owners’ reply only comes to show how bad the customer service from her is! Choosing to shout at a client in front of other clients, knowing fully well that she could come to me in a civilised manner since there was 3 other staff members in the shop, such a lazy behaviour, I live in the area an never heard of something like this, even a budget supermarket has better manners. And again, she asked me to have a seat instead of telling me that the card declined, choosing to then get her kick from shouting at someone. Before making an order on deliveroo, I called and said "Happy new year glad you're back from holiday!' and kindly requested she toast the almond pain au chocolat like before. She somehow immediately knew it was me that wrote this review and ANGERLY started yelling at me and said she will no longer do it. She said she toasted the croissant in the past when she worked in the kitchen but she no longer works in the kitchen and then she yelled again at me about my review. How was I, as a customer, supposed to know she was no longer working in the kitchen? Can you imagine a customer kindly requesting to toast a croissant and then yelling at them?! I can easily say worst customer service I've had in London... She should have apologized for inconsistent quality food from the past and thank her customers for staying loyal! Instead I get yelled at? How embarrassing and a terrible way to start 2022. Wish the owner all the best and hope she can make her food consistently the same and also work on accepting criticism.
Previous review: They used to toast their almond croissants when ordering on deliveroo. The last 3 times I’ve ordered they don’t toast anymore so it doesn’t taste as good as my original review. Also, they never pickup the phone so don’t try calling to request anything. Hope they get back to the good ol days.

Read moreWhen you come in, first impression is good, but after that is a bit different. The food was not bad, but to be honest the customer service is really really disappointing. When we asked table to be cleaned (was dirty from the previous client), they didn’t bother to use a spray. Pouched eggs on two toasts we ordered were good, but in one of them the slice of bread was tiny (not a size you can served at all) we call the lady and explained and asked if they could give us a normal slice of bread, we have been told that usually pouched eggs are served in just one slice of bread, absolutely ridiculous, we have paid for 2 and as far as I know it’s always 2 eggs on 2 toasts, anyway even if it truth, which I doubt, she could handle differently, she was rude and unprofessional. Very bad customer service from the lady (she had French accent) no idea if she is owner or employee, it’s even worst if she is the owner. She needs to learn and improve a lot her customer service skills. Before leaving we showed staff our total disappointment with their customer service and the staff start laughing, that’s a shame.
