So this Nando’s used to be great and then we came across Alda or Alsa Elsa I think her name was. Here is what happened, strap in! I normally order my food from deliveroo and because they don’t do the wild herb sauce in sachets any more and they only have them in the bottles. I usually call ahead and ask them to put it into a small pot and send it with my order. Every single time the staff are more than happy to do so and it’s greatly appreciated. So Elsa lads or Alsa, not quite sure what her name was, on this occasion says that it’s company policy not to do this. So considering every colleague of hers over the last year or so has been more than happy to do so to keep customers happy to do so and give fantastic customer service and satisfaction, she seems to think that it’s “company policy” not to do so. She subsequently told me that she was the manager. This is a perfect example of when you give the wrong person the wrong job … I got an extreme whiff of the power has gone to her head. I really wanted to say to her “you are a manager at Nando’s you are not a chairwoman at a large global organisation, calm down”. However I kept it polite and professional. Read moreOf all the Nando's branches, this one was the most insufferable. The restaurant was dirty, super dirty. I don't think customers who are disrespectful, don't have manners and leaves the restaurant worse than they found it should be allowed in for a second time, even at the cost of corporate greed. I feel sorry for the staff who have to clean dirty tables and floors and then served food to new customers with the same hands without wearing disposable gloves. Talking about staff, they are tired, unmotivated and rude - probably because that's the treatment they receive from their manager. In a culture where the staff are treated like the most valuable assets, they'll treat customers like royalty. But for this restaurant, that's not the case. They sell ice cream but don't have proper spoon for ice cream. The smallest spoon they have is for drinking soup. The food was a menace - small portion, burnt, and the garlic bread went through some kind of existential crisis. The food took forever to arrive which disrupted my day plans. I have to be very desperate to be able to make a second trip to this...
Read moreOrdered from this place through deliveroo. Ordered mushroom wrap with garlic bread and peri salted chips, a halloumi pitta with mash and garlic bread plus a side of mash and another side of chips.
The mash arrived in the frozen disks they come in half cooked they missed peri-salted fries completely and juice from the wrap and soaked through the wrapper gone on to the rest of the food and split the bottom of the bag open.
We called the resturant/deliveroo and arranged for the food to be re-sent. But when the food came the mash was fine but they had forgotten the peri-salted chips AGAIN and mixed up the wrap and pitta (I am vegan so I couldn't eat the halloumi wrap) and the spices were also the wrong way around so the hollumi wrap ended up with hot sauce which was meant for my order but was too spicy for my friend to eat.
The whole process took hours and when we called again the manager point blank refused a refund...
All in all terrible expericence would adivse not...
