Nandos is the go to brand for my little daughter - so we end up at a Nandos atleast once a week. Ever since this one turned Halal we have had a couple of trips - more so earlier than now. To be honest - the one on High Street is MUCH better when it comes to service. Just to compare, the attitude of the staff makes all the difference. At this outlet, if you do get a chance to be acknowledged entry, you are thrown around in a deep corner somewhere because you dont have a choice and the seats by the windows are apparently 'reserved' for god knows who. On both the occasions with my family, the child was utterly frustrated and no one took the seats even when we were leaving. Rudeness harboring on the borders of discrimination. On the contrary, the staff at High Street outlet is so welcoming and the manager on duty would keep visiting to ensure that everything is in order - and even having a small talk. In another incident I was having a professional lunch with a business acquaintance who happens to hold a noble Title. Ok, I do not expect the service to be of high standards - but the food ordered together was served out of sequence with mine coming first - and his a good 10 mins later. I did not start out of courtesy. The gentleman merely said that - oh this chicken looks a bit small - and since you delayed my serving can you please warm up the food for the gentleman (me). Firstly, the server came down hard in a very offensive manner with a long explanation as if we have dined at Nandos for the first time and attitude was take it or leave it (without even being argued in return). Then refused to take responsibility for delay in serving as they were different items (Burger and a quarter chicken) arguing incessantly. I admire the patience of my guest that he swallowed the humiliation.
Now that i am writing the review that I notice that the management has not even bothered acknowledging the reviews. To top it all, when I do a location search on google for Nandos LDO, its ironic that it shows the FIRST picture of Wagamama, and Cineworld - with Zizzi on the side. Nandos outlet picture is placed 6th. No one seems to be bothered.
Update (Aug 23) It was nice that someone took ownership - and responded appropriately. I have seen visible improvement in the place - staff changes - better training - and the general vibe of the place...
Read moreWe visited on Thursday at around 6 pm. We didn't have to wait long before greeted by a member of staff who asked us where we liked to sit and that we could sit anywhere of our choosing. Once at our table, he asked if we had been to Nandos before and asked if we had any alleges that they needed to be aware of. We were left to order via the app. Glasses came to our table, and on inspection of my glass, there was food still covered all over one side of my glass. The waitress had seen me looking and reproach the table, asking if my glass was okay , and she then immediately saw the food still stuck to the glass. I'm just wondering why this wasn't checked before bringing it to my table. I observed her speaking to another female member of staff and showing the glass in which appeared to be the manager. The waitress brought over a fresh glass. We waited approximately 10 mins for our food to arrive. The service was good and the food was nice. We both tried a new burger that is on the menu, and I do recommend it to try. The atmosphere was good. Music at the right level. The restaurant was clean, and the staff seemed to be on the ball welcoming customers in and thanking customers as they left in which they did the same for us when we left. After our meals, we went to use the bathroom, and unfortunately, this was where it let down the restaurant. It was clear that a member of staff hadn't checked the toilets in a very long time. The bathroom was dirty. Tissue on the floor. Sink blocked and full of dirty used water floating in the sink. The baby changing area in the disabled toilets was used for a storage area for their creates. What a letdown as everything else within the...
Read moreDue to covid, we were informed we needed to virtually que which was fine and everyone outside understood.
Once we got inside and were seated we were informed that we needed to order from our table via a QR scan code that was on the table. After a few minutes I was unable to order a chicken burger, the manager (assuming this was her position) said that we could go up to the till and order once everyone knew what they wanted. Within a few moments the manager came back and said the reason as to why we couldn't order a burger was they were out of buns. With 2 young fussy boys finding something they are willing to eat without making noise isn't always as smooth as it should be. So then we changed from burgers to wraps. So now, allowing the children to choose their sides, both say garlic bread. Looking on the on line ordering app/ Web page.. no garlic bread but its on the paper menu, looking around for some assistance but there is none. I got up and walked to the till, i waited and then was greeted by a man who looked at me with a confused look and said you have to order from your table, i said i was trying to but nothing seems to be working. Tried to order burgers but the app was not letting us, then found out there was no buns, now the garlic bread isn't showing on the app. He then said, there is no garlic bread, there is no bread.
I said thank you, walked back to my table where the manage was standing less than 2feet away, we then left as this seemed pointless as there was already a limited menu and with a lot missing it seemed less and less likely that there was going to be something the children would want. The worst experience I've encountered...
