NOT going back to Wimbledon Nandos restaurant. My wife and I arrived around 12.10pm there was only two customers in the restaurant so it was EMPTY! anyway we asked if we could go upstairs the waiter said it was closed so no problem we were taken to a table for 2 (rather small even for two people) at the rear near the WC's. As soon as I sat down I could feel the aircon blowing warm air over my head which felt uncomfortable, I sat there while my partner went to use the WC but in that time I thought it would be better if I moved to another table. I randomly moved to a u shaped table with more room and as soon as I sat down the waiter came towards me and told me it was a table for five and I can't sit here (the table itself was now way big enough to sit five people with their plates it would be cramped!). I looked around and the place was empty with about four customers in there! I asked if it was okay to stay here and that we were going to be quick with the meal but he still refused. I stated this was ridicules as the place was empty so he went to speak to the manager. When he came back it was still a no! I asked where the manager is and he directed me to the till counter, I went there to just ask why is it a problem for us to sit there whilst the restaurant is empty and she replied it's a table for five, I could not believe that this was an issue so I asked her if she wants us to leave and her reply was I have to be professional! then she carried on to ignore me so I went back to the table sat down, I have been in many restaurants and never had this issue when the places have been empty in fact I have been told in many occasions to sit where ever I like when there is plenty of space. As soon as my wife came back I explained what happened so we decided to leave. All this just over a silly table within an EMPTY restaurant and the attitude of the staff & management as if the table was only for VIP NANDO members. Phoned Nandos HQ complaints section who took my details and promised they would get back to me but didn't! I can truly see how much Nandos cares about their treatment of customers, NOT...
Read moreJust wanted to make a comment from my visit tonight. It definitely wasn't an ideal visit, something had definitely gone wrong and there's no sugar coating that. However the despite whatever the issue was, the staff were working their absolute hardest to rectify the mistake. It was obviously an incredibly difficult night and I would rather never have my food on time for the rest of my life than to see staff put through something like that again.
Unfortunately I did have to cancel my order after a 45 minute wait since I had a show to attend with less than 15 minutes till the start- my order apparently hadn't been processed when I asked where mine was when my partner had his food arrive awhile before. However the manager was very apologetic, kind and upon discussion said it could be made ready for me to take home if I stopped by afterwards- which I did.
I have to commend the staff working tonight on their dedication and incredibly hard work. Absolutely nobody was rude despite obviously being stressed and probably getting quite upset- but they were taking complaints head on when they didn't deserve those attitudes I saw from other customers. I understand frustration, but anger only makes it more difficult when trying to get a situation under control.
Shout out especially to Octavia who went way beyond in her duties at trying to keep things calm when all hell had apparently broken loose. She deserves a bonus or a long holiday or something, a real credit to the company.
Perhaps nobody will read this, but the staff here obviously care deeply about their work and trying to give their all to a customer. I hope to visit again soon when I'm sure there will be no issues with things arriving late- because I'm sitting on my train home right now and this food...
Read moreI visited Nando’s in Wimbledon today with my son, who has severe autism and sensory sensitivities. The downstairs area was very noisy, with families and people talking, and the only available table was in the middle of it. I asked the staff at the front if we could be seated upstairs, which was quiet and empty, but I was told it was closed.
I then asked to speak to the manager,I think his name was Sidman or something , who immediately seemed dismissive and uninterested. He did not smile or acknowledge our concerns and quickly refused to accommodate us upstairs, even after I explained my son’s difficulties with noise. I offered solutions such as bringing our own food or not requiring service while upstairs, but he still said no, citing short staffing. His attitude made it feel like he did not want to be on shift, and he seemed disengaged throughout, yawning and showing no effort to help.
Because of this, we were left with only two options: sit at a table that was unsuitable for my son or leave. I was disappointed that the restaurant did not make any effort to accommodate a customer with a disability, even when it seemed possible.
On a positive note, the chicken was delicious, but the chips appeared dry, like leftovers from a tray. Overall, the experience was overshadowed by the manager’s attitude and lack of consideration for accessibility. Restaurants should be able to reasonably accommodate customers with disabilities especially if it seems possible. I hope this feedback helps improve future...
