Visited Feb 2022. It was a Sunday evening and wasn't very busy. We got a table straight away. Quickly reordered my previous order on their app. Food came very quickly and service was great. We were then given some butterfly chicken 'on the house'. So were other customers. Not sure why, but not complaining 😉 Update: Visited recently, this time on a Sunday evening. They now use an app to join a virtual queue with an estimated waiting time. Had to wait 20 minutes, which was fine. Once seated the food and service were great. Previous review:First visit to this Nando's. Tried to get in another time, but was told there was an hour's wait. Went quite late this time, on a Saturday night just after 10. Only a few customers. Service was good and food was great. Just seemed a bit hurried at the end as staff were keen to close. Understandable I suppose.

Me and my wife have enjoyed eating at Nandos for many years and we tend to order the 4 thighs and mash. So we're accustomed to the portion sizes. First time visiting the Goodmayes branch on 15/02/23 and we ordered the same. We were suprised by the smaller portion from this branch. We're usually full by the end of our meal, but we were left hungry and had to buy elsewhere. I thought it was just in my head, but the diners either side of me made the same comments. If this is a change from Nandos, then this is a shame. Either this or the branch is trying to shave portions for margins. I was served by Dani, whose service was fantastic. I questioned the portion size with Dani and he gave me a fair response and I respect him for the way he spoke to me. He called his Manager over and that was a different experience altogether. We were told his name is Luis. As he came over, without a greeting, he just hovered over us and stared at us intimidatingly and did not say a word. Acting oblivious to the issue I've raised, there was an awkward silence until I started talking. Completely lacked professionalism and empathy. Regardless of whether it was his fault or the brand's fault for the change in portion size, I accepted the response I had from Dani. Luis could definitely benefit from customer service training from either an accredited course or from Dani.

Firstly, the branch was exceedingly busy, leading to extended wait times like 30-40 minutes Secondly, the temperature within the premises was notably cold, detracting from the comfort of patrons. This chilliness had an impact on the overall enjoyment of the meal, as it was challenging to savor the food in an environment where one felt uncomfortable due to the cold. While the food quality remains commendable and up to Nando's standards, the experience was marred by the excessive busyness and the discomfort caused by the low temperature. Addressing these aspects could significantly enhance the overall dining experience for patrons seeking both quality cuisine and a comfortable ambiance at Nando's Goodmayes." Bunch of jokers at the gate Half of the tables are empty and huge crowd at the door. Since they’ve changed the staff this new staff don’t know how to handle the crowd specially the security guard who talks like he’s giving orders to the customers like sit there sit here. He literally told customers to wait outside the door since he’s the in charge of the gate. When asked my tables are empty been told waiting for the customers in the queue and literally same tables were empty after 30 mins and guess what we been given one the same table which was empty after 45 mins which they could have give. 45 mins earlier so really there is no point of having the queue when you’ve got empty table. Allow people to have queue when you don’t have empty tables simple.thats what their old staff was doing. Half of the crowd turned away and didn’t even leave the queue so guess what they still waiting for the crowd to come back and still tables are empty when customers again waiting outside the gate and I’m writing this sitting inside the restaurant.

The manager “Riz” doesn’t have any respect and is clearly racist! They take their own people before everyone else. We tried to argue about it and the rude skin headed manager told us to not come considering it’s our local. Whenever we attend, we never have any issues. I’ve only ever experienced issues with this fella, last time he told us the wait was 45-60 minutes but we agreed and we were called within 3 minutes (not sure why he was turning anyone that wasn’t of Asian ethnicity away). A young lady named Mari tried to get involved in his defence and without trying to hear us out or ask us what the problem is, she automatically told us to leave also. Will make a complaint directly to Nando’s and hope he faces some serious consequences cause it’s just not nice or on. My wife is pregnant and we also had a 1 year old with us, told to wait whilst everyone else were being offered seats!

My new local Nando's and what an amazing place too. Staff are really friendly. Really spacious as my young child gave me the run-around. This Nando's and its' staff are very family-friendly; however, since COVID-19 and with their virtual queue system being implemented, the wait times for eating in at a table have become quite unreasonable and unbearable. For example if they approximate wait times are around 10-20 mins, please know that they mean around 30-40 mins. Even though these times are approximate, an apology from the staff would have sufficed. This experience has brought the overall experience rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. Please fix your unbearable wait times!
