We were looking for somewhere for lunch and had seen favourable reviews of this place. After a long wait the staff suggested three alternative ways to order. Using the app which in theory gave us a 10% discount, at the bar and to the occasionally seen staff. We chose to order drinks using the app but the system did not work. After a very long wait we ordered our food with a waiter who appeared to be the only one working in the place. He collected our long awaited drinks. The menu was very limited and apparently only mushy peas are available. Garden peas have not yet arrived at this establishment. My cod in beer batter was 60% batter and 40% cod although the chips were excellent. The turkey, leek and ham pie was also a disappointment. The pastry was very thin and the filling was dry without any proper sauce just a weak gravy. The mash was OK. Considering the price tag on each meal the portions were meagre. All this with a 12% service charge only added insult to injury. The view was nice but the is the only good thing about the place. Poor food, expensive and poor service. We will not be going there again.

What a disappointment. Whilst the booking process was smooth, the rest of our time there was just about mediocre. 6 of us dined near the balcony, and it kept getting cold because people couldn't be bothered to close the door behind them. For the whole evening. The staff was attentive but not very competent. We places some drinks orders multiple times and they never came. The food was ok. I preferred the fries to the fish of my eponymous dish.the scotch egg was nice, but the burger was very average. What shocked us was the beetroot and feta cheeses salad. It was clearly made from scraps of salad, with four slices of beetroot and two cubes of feta. All of that for the astronomical sum of £14. The redeeming dish was the apple and plum crumble. The crumble was a bit sweet but otherwise, it was quite nice. Beer selection was decent, but our incentive for going was that they allow dogs. We won't be returning.

We’ve previously always enjoyed our food here, but had a very disappointing experience tonight. First it took 40 minutes for the food to be delivered (including a scotch egg, admittedly tasty, from the starters - bizarrely coming with garlic sauce rather than piccalilli). But then when it did come the burger was over cooked and the roasted courgette salad with radicchio, vegan feta and hazelnuts (£14) turned out to be some scraps of iceberg lettuce, six or seven discs of cucumber, some feta and a bit of red onion. No radicchio or hazelnuts in sight so sadly lacking in flavour and substance. I wish I’d read other recent reviews commenting on the salads in particular! To be fair one of our group was very happy with the macaroni cheese and the fries were quite nice.

🌟The Narrowboat Pub: A Hidden Gem on Regent’s Canal 🌟

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Narrowboat, a delightful pub tucked away along Regent’s Canal in Islington. Let me share my five-star experience with you!

Scenic Views and Cozy Atmosphere The Narrowboat is a true hidden gem. As I stepped onto the balcony, I was greeted by picturesque views of the canal. Even on that slightly overcast day, the charm of the waterway and the surrounding greenery was undeniable. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, whether you’re with friends or family.

Friendly and Attentive Staff Kristina, Aimee, and Agnes—the heart and soul of The Narrowboat—made my visit memorable. Their warm smiles and attentive service elevated the entire experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu, quick to recommend their favorite drinks, and genuinely interested in ensuring guests felt welcome.

Craft Beers and Cocktails The drink selection at The Narrowboat is impressive. From cask ales to craft beers, they cater to all tastes. I highly recommend trying their Guinness — perfectly served with a view. Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or a cocktail lover, you won’t be disappointed.

The Perfect Escape The Narrowboat offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of London life. Whether you’re sipping a pint by the water or enjoying a leisurely meal, you’ll find solace here. It’s a place where time slows down, and conversations flow freely.

In summary, The Narrowboat Pub is a must-visit. Kristina, Aimee, and Agnes, along with the entire team, create an inviting haven where good food, great drinks, and stunning views converge. Cheers to this charming spot along...

The pub itself is beautiful and is in an idyllic spot! I went today with friends for afternoon Sunday roast and it was the worst roast I have had in London. Not to mention the appalling service that went along with it. we ordered 5 roasts which we got 30 mins later. -the roast was stone cold, when we got the waiter's attention (which took a while), we told him about it after having 1 bite and his response was "I took it and brought it to you as soon as the chef told me, so it's not my fault" we then asked to speak to his manager as he was not getting the point, she then sent him back again and he started taking our plates without saying anything. When we asked him what was happening, he said "I am taking this away and it will be free of charge". we insisted to speak to the manager and she came over and told us they will clear our table and tell the chef to give us hot food. we got the roasts again, warmer this time however it was still cold which we said out loud, at which point the manager rolled her eyes and stormed off. there was literally nothing good about the roast, the meat was cold and chewey, the vegetables had been clearly sitting all day and the Yorkshire pudding was dryer than stale bread. -at the end we had to go over there to ask for the bill, where we have noticed the manager sitting with her boyfriend having beer and completing ignored our waves to get her attention.

All in all, the food was terrible and the service even worse as the manager and the waiter did nothing to resolve the matter and clearly did not care...

Lovely looking pub in a nice location but let down by a member of staff. We arrived at 2pm on a busy Sunday to spend an hour having a drink. There was a table reserved for 4pm so we thought we'd perch there until about 3pm, so we giving plenty of time to prepare for booking. We were rudely ushered off the table with the member of staff stated it was booked now. No apology given, it was implied that it was somehow our fault. Having already bought a drink we moved out onto the balcony. The door was broken and therefore difficult to close but we did our best. The member of staff who had previously ushered us off the table shut the door with some difficulty (which had no handle on our side) without a glance at us. When we were brought our tea by a different member of staff she was unable to shut the door. The rude member of staff re appeared and essentially told us off for sitting there as it was making the 'diners' cold. Again no apology for the fact that we'd been moved again, or acknowledgement that it was through no fault of our own as the door was broken. We moved to the other balcony where we made absolutely sure the door was shut, but still received cross looks from staff as if we were disturbing them. The staff made it abundantly clear that they only wanted people in the pub if they were going to buy a meal. If that is their policy they should state it ln arrival and not simply try their hardest to make people, who have parted with their money by the way, feel unwelcome for simply...
