🌟The Narrowboat Pub: A Hidden Gem on Regent’s Canal 🌟
I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Narrowboat, a delightful pub tucked away along Regent’s Canal in Islington. Let me share my five-star experience with you!
Scenic Views and Cozy Atmosphere The Narrowboat is a true hidden gem. As I stepped onto the balcony, I was greeted by picturesque views of the canal. Even on that slightly overcast day, the charm of the waterway and the surrounding greenery was undeniable. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, whether you’re with friends or family.
Friendly and Attentive Staff Kristina, Aimee, and Agnes—the heart and soul of The Narrowboat—made my visit memorable. Their warm smiles and attentive service elevated the entire experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu, quick to recommend their favorite drinks, and genuinely interested in ensuring guests felt welcome.
Craft Beers and Cocktails The drink selection at The Narrowboat is impressive. From cask ales to craft beers, they cater to all tastes. I highly recommend trying their Guinness — perfectly served with a view. Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or a cocktail lover, you won’t be disappointed.
The Perfect Escape The Narrowboat offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of London life. Whether you’re sipping a pint by the water or enjoying a leisurely meal, you’ll find solace here. It’s a place where time slows down, and conversations flow freely.
In summary, The Narrowboat Pub is a must-visit. Kristina, Aimee, and Agnes, along with the entire team, create an inviting haven where good food, great drinks, and stunning views converge. Cheers to this charming spot along...
Read moreThe pub itself is beautiful and is in an idyllic spot! I went today with friends for afternoon Sunday roast and it was the worst roast I have had in London. Not to mention the appalling service that went along with it. we ordered 5 roasts which we got 30 mins later. -the roast was stone cold, when we got the waiter's attention (which took a while), we told him about it after having 1 bite and his response was "I took it and brought it to you as soon as the chef told me, so it's not my fault" we then asked to speak to his manager as he was not getting the point, she then sent him back again and he started taking our plates without saying anything. When we asked him what was happening, he said "I am taking this away and it will be free of charge". we insisted to speak to the manager and she came over and told us they will clear our table and tell the chef to give us hot food. we got the roasts again, warmer this time however it was still cold which we said out loud, at which point the manager rolled her eyes and stormed off. there was literally nothing good about the roast, the meat was cold and chewey, the vegetables had been clearly sitting all day and the Yorkshire pudding was dryer than stale bread. -at the end we had to go over there to ask for the bill, where we have noticed the manager sitting with her boyfriend having beer and completing ignored our waves to get her attention.
All in all, the food was terrible and the service even worse as the manager and the waiter did nothing to resolve the matter and clearly did not care...
Read moreLovely looking pub in a nice location but let down by a member of staff. We arrived at 2pm on a busy Sunday to spend an hour having a drink. There was a table reserved for 4pm so we thought we'd perch there until about 3pm, so we giving plenty of time to prepare for booking. We were rudely ushered off the table with the member of staff stated it was booked now. No apology given, it was implied that it was somehow our fault. Having already bought a drink we moved out onto the balcony. The door was broken and therefore difficult to close but we did our best. The member of staff who had previously ushered us off the table shut the door with some difficulty (which had no handle on our side) without a glance at us. When we were brought our tea by a different member of staff she was unable to shut the door. The rude member of staff re appeared and essentially told us off for sitting there as it was making the 'diners' cold. Again no apology for the fact that we'd been moved again, or acknowledgement that it was through no fault of our own as the door was broken. We moved to the other balcony where we made absolutely sure the door was shut, but still received cross looks from staff as if we were disturbing them. The staff made it abundantly clear that they only wanted people in the pub if they were going to buy a meal. If that is their policy they should state it ln arrival and not simply try their hardest to make people, who have parted with their money by the way, feel unwelcome for simply...
