Novi & Co Espresso House Beckenham — Restaurant in London

Visited with my 4-year-old daughter in Feb 22, and we had a cappuccino and a croissant. The croissant was very nice, but the cappuccino was made, as seems to be the case in the UK, with a double-shot of coffee, the milk foam was too liquid, and overall the drink was far too big. From the point of view of an Italian, the cappuccino was nothing of the sort - if anything it was more of a "soup" than a coffee.

Moreover, we badly needed the toilet, but were told it was out of the service, and seems to have been so for a while, as the excuse was that because of the pandemic they had been closed for a while and now the toilet was basically full of boxes. Considering that it is February 2022, this is an unreasonable excuse and should be mended right away. This is important to keep in mind if you are a family and/or with people who might need access...

I came here recently to meet a friend and get a hot drink. It was my first time here so a friend recommended coming. I was looking forward to it given I had heard so many positive things about Novi and Co plus read the great reviews.

When entering it was quite awkward to get the pram through but I managed it so a minor issue. I ordered a drink, however it was not hot so the milk was not heated particularly well. I also found it odd there was no ambient music at all, even just very quietly. I could hear others having conversations so felt conscious of my voice.

I would come back to try it again but I would have to ask if my drink could be hot because this was disappointing. I would have done this there and then when I visited, but was holding my baby and trying to tend to them was enough of a challenge so I...

Could do better. First visit to Novi after rave reviews. Coffee ok but need to seriously improve in several ways...1. Get wifi 2. Boiling hot day and like a sauna...get some fans 3. Coffee served in glasses without handles, couldn't drink for 10 mins 4. Waitress not rude but not polite...served and grabbed things without a word 5. Back door opened to create a through draft...didn't work...get fans as per 2 and unsightly back yard 6. Get some plants to soften grim and unsightly decor 7. Some newspapers and mags wouldn't go amiss. So to sum up, cafes have to try a lot harder to survive these days. Can't do it on good coffee alone. Will revisit in a few months to see if any of this feedback taken on board. Hope you thrive as we love independent local shops but you have to listen to...
