It's like Cheers. Everyone knows everyone.
Update: this was a while ago, mind but I didn’t want to keep the same review I made 3 years to stay the same as my review has changed. I went there once and I was looking for my sister and niece as they said they were at a cafe. I assumed this one. I went there, looked through the window and couldn’t see my family, started to get on the phone to them and without going in but looking through the glass, I could see the staff members throwing their arms up at me, signalling to me to leave and had angry aggressive expressions. I left in pure terror. I got on the phone to my sister and explained what had happened. They were in a different cafe btw. As I was going to them, my sister explained that they probably annoyed because lots of people, apparently have been going to the cafe because it was in the series Top Boy. I haven’t seen Top Boy so I didn’t know this. After the fact, I did watch it and yes, it’s in there. Wow. Dalston Market is also in it and many more but I don’t think I deserve that reaction at all. Kinda lost me. Don’t feel welcome anymore. And they made the price go up and the...

If you’re a fan of Top Boy or just love a great English breakfast, Number One Cafe is an absolute must-visit. I had the Top Boy Breakfast with a classic cup of tea, and let me tell you, it was everything you’d want in a hearty English breakfast—generous, delicious, and satisfying.
What makes this place even more special is its connection to the show. The cafe looks exactly like the scenes from Top Boy, and I even got to sit in the very seat Dushane sat in! It felt surreal, like stepping into the show itself. The staff made the experience even better; one of the workers kindly took pictures of me in the seat, going above and beyond to get the best angles—his kindness and attention to detail truly made my day.
Whether you’re looking for a great spot to enjoy a meal, relax with a tea or coffee, or simply hang out with friends, Number One Cafe is the place to be. The atmosphere, the food, and the incredible service make it a standout spot in London. Much love from Canada, and I can’t wait to visit again next time I’m in town. Highly...
Read moreI was very excited to visit this cafe being famous for Top Boy and as I’m a big fan of the series, I wanted to make effort to visit this greasy spoon and have a proper fry up :). The owner was very friendly and welcoming, making sure I was good and enjoying my top boy Breakfast which I did indeed however to my surprise when the bill came, I was charged 20£ for this fry up as you can see from the picture. I have the feeling I was ripped off and the price was made up on the spot. At the time, I didn’t question anything about the pricing as I felt a little embarrassed but I realised I should have questioned the price of the Top Boy breakfast when it was offered to me. Beware there is no pricing on the menu for the special Top Boy try up. I would love to come back again to this cafe but I feel disappointed that I was charged way too much and therefore not return again unless a solution...
