Want for a last minute Sunday lunch, booked 45 mins ahead and they are able to fit me in! The pub itself is extremely cool inside! There was a bit of a wait for food, but they were full and I’m sure lots of orders for the toast! The roast itself cost £17, which is on the pricier side so my expectation were high. The roast was Okay! The Yorkshire pudding was soft instead of being crispy which was a huge shame as it’s my favourite part of a roast! The vegetables were cooked nicely and roast potatoes were tasty however again not crispy at all, kind of soft. Let’s talk about the pork belly… HUGE portion! Was very happy when my plate arrived. I did find that as it was so big, it was quite dry other than the very middle (which takes a while to get too as very big piece of pork belly!). The gravy was also very good. I was looking forward to the cauliflower cheese that came with the roast however my plate had around a teaspoon of cauliflower cheese (looked like they had just scraped the scraps out of the bottom of the tray). I first though that maybe they were running out, until my friends plate came with a nice portion of cauliflower cheese (with actual pieces of cauliflower) Overall a good roast, on the pricey side but a decent bit of scran! Unsure if I would...
Read moreVisited with a friend on a busy Friday night. There are plenty seats available, including front and back garden. We received very friendly and attentive service from every single member of staff, drinks arrived quickly. Food took a while but it was certainly worth the wait. We thought of ordering Nachos as a starter and then a burger each. What we received completely overcame our expectations. You know these usually small pub portions of nachos which have vague amount of all the good bits and a mountain of the corn chips? Well, not in Oak & Pastor, ladies and gentlemen. This was the best pub nachos I've ever had in London in over 5 years. Every element was served generously and tasted great! Now, the burgers.. oh boy... Both the Pulled pork and the Katsu chicken were mouthwatering and super delicious. Each burger came with a big portion of perfectly cooked, crispy, and delicious fries. The overall mood and atmosphere were great throughout the evening. The lavatories were well maintained, and in my opinion up to a usual London pub standard. Given it was a busy Friday night, the cleanliness was also surprisingly satisfying. Government's Covid-19 guideline observed. Will definitely return next time I'm around Archway. Thank you, once again, for a...
Read moreWe stopped by with colleagues—and it turned out to be one of those unexpectedly brilliant evenings. The concept alone is a conversation starter: you’re invited to literally write down your idea for a signature drink, and the bartenders bring it to life (or remix it with flair). It’s part cocktail bar, part creative lab, and all about playful experimentation.
The atmosphere was relaxed but buzzing—low lighting, handwritten menus, and a wall covered in past drink ideas from guests. Some were poetic, some chaotic, and some surprisingly genius. We tried a few creations, including a smoky mezcal twist with hibiscus and black pepper, and a gin-based number with rosemary and grapefruit that somehow tasted like a Mediterranean breeze.
