Just don’t get the bad reviews. We’ve been going Ossies for years and live out of town. We come up specially for it. The goat was sublime. So much food in the container. They aren’t shy with packing it out. We sat in to eat. Found the staff friendly. Happy to give me more gravy to take my leftovers home. As just could not eat it all. My husband had oxtail with rice n peas and was very happy with it. They now take card payment as well as cash which is handy. We had some lovely chats with other customers. We’ve never had a bad food from here. If we had. We sure wouldn’t be going back. I believe you treat people how you would like to be treated yourself a bit of respect and politeness goes a long way. Remember that’s some long shifts the staff are working there !!

When people stereotype Caribbean food shops. This place is the flagship for it. The service by one of the women is beyond a joke. I used to come to this shop years ago and the women who worked then had much better service. If that was my business, she couldn't be at the front for my business. Also the misleading advertising for their lunchtime speacial. It states "ANY CAN DRINK" with the meal. When i asked for a gingerbeer, i get told, that i can only pick a can of cream soda or a bottle of water. From since when is a bottle of water a can. I've enclosed a picture for said advert.. I'm glad i don't live in that area for that to be the only Caribbean shop to go to. If i were you, I'd go acre lane for better service and food.

The real deal. Not imitated. I've read a lot of reviews complaining about the customer service. Fair, but you don't go to a Jamaican takeaway looking for customer service. I think all Jamaicans failed that subject on their cooking course but excelled everywhere else. The foods amazing, the jerk chicken was cooked to perfection and the chicken Pattie was sublime. Service could be sped up but it's worth the wait. This is now My go to 24hr takeaway on Walworth road after going to bagel king for so many years. Also cheap. The jerk in cocoa bread with coleslaw was just 3pound. Recommended.

I just noticed there’s loads of bad reviews so thought I’d give them a slightly better one because these reviews don’t seem reflective of this place at all. I ordered online, wasn’t sure if I wanted to risk the place bcos of these reviews but decided to take a chance because I didn’t want jerk chicken from some pretentious place, I wanted the real thing. I’m glad I did. The jerk chicken was honestly delicious. Juicy, saucy, spicy and a huge portion, so glad that I’ve got leftovers for lunch now! The rice and peas was great too and soaked up all that lovely sauce. The coleslaw is seriously tasty, it’s exactly to the T how I like my coleslaw personally, so I couldn’t get enough of it!! My only critique of that is I wish there was more of it in the portion because it was honestly so so good, that it’s a shame the portion was that small. You could put that coleslaw on a shoe and it would make it taste good. I would say the mac was a bit dry and the crust over the top was rock solid unfortunately, but still pretty decent flavour. Plantain could have been better because it was cold and a bit soggy but those did not really take away from the rest of the meal being good. Don’t listen to these reviews - overall it’s a solid place with great flavours, and I would order the jerk, rice and coleslaw again in a heartbeat, hopefully will again very...

The customer service leaves a lot to be desired and after an exceptionally awful experience in this shop today I will not be returning. The short chubby lady that serves the meals is absolutely awful and has zero manners. It’s such a shame as the food is top notch, but I REFUSE to put my hard earned money into a business that does not value their customers.

Please lady, if you read this you really need to fix your attitude. Learn how to speak to customers properly instead of arguing with them for an error you made on your part. If someone orders a meal maybe make it a habit to ask whether they want plain rice or rice and peas instead of just making assumptions, and then getting stressed when you are told to change it. I am totally disgusted by your lack of social awareness and manners, and left feeling humiliated.

I will not be coming back!!

Howeverrrr, I’ve been to this restaurant a few times over the years and I cannot fault the food I’ve tasted. The Jerk Chicken and Oxtail meals are both a hit and I usually alternate between the two. With that being said if you are happy to get amazing food with a side order of S*it service, then absolutely this is your...

I have been coming to this place for years, today I was shocked and disappointed first with the food & then the attitude of the so called manager. I order the same thing every time which is large plain rice & pepper steak with mutton gravy & rice & peas with pepper steak with mutton gravy. Today the food taste bad, completely off it was poor, I was shocked so I called to talk to them about it… OMG the disrespect was shocking. I asked to speak to a manger, the first lady said she was the manger she was nice & respectful I was talking to her & explaining & then some ghetto, disrespectful, zero knowledge or understanding of customer service came & took the phone when we was in mid conversation & whats my problem, I explained then she responded with maybe you never brushed your teeth that’s why it taste bad DWL (I just have to laugh). I’m not sure what kind of back street customers services this is or poor food quality that they provided today (maybe they were having a bad day) either way her attitude is poor & if that’s the level of customer received when a customer gives feedback, I will never be stepping foot back in...
