Had a break between appointments and decided to have something quick (but tasty! Right?) at Ottolenghi Marylebone. I was soo disappointed by the experience. Not the ambiance or the service, which were ok, THE FOOD that should really be the point! I ordered the chicken with choice of 2 veg. I got the hardest, coldest piece of chicken I have ever seen and been asked to eat. Asked the waiter and she said that yes, it was supposed to be cold. I ate it out of curiosity (maybe it will start tasting better?) and pure hunger. And what an endeavour it was with the totally blunt knife I was given - it could not even cut broccoli with it. About the veg side dishes, roasted broccoli and aubergine, they could have been tasty but again they were served so VERY cold that they were even hard to chew. My feelings as I left the restaurant was of a)utter irritation that a place that feeds people (and not cheaply), think they can get away with serving staff like this b)sadness that the name “Ottolenghi” doesn’t actually mean much. But… the place was full, so maybe I am a rarity caring about the food I eat and liking to feel it is at least decent? 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, writing this down in case there is someone else out there that cares. Ah, the...

Was excited to eat here as I’ve had many delicious meals at the various restaurants and enjoy making the food at home. It was my 40th birthday and as we couldn’t make a reservation and just wanted a light lunch we thought we would pop in and have lunch here. We had specifically chosen this deli / cafe as a treat. Had travelled for 2 hours as going to theatre too. The FOH said that we could wait 15 minutes, which was fine but then I asked her to use the toilet and was told that there are no toilets for customers. When I said that I thought all sitting in areas had to provide one. She replied that that requirement was only for places that have 10 or more chairs, and they have 9 (definitely space for 10). Furthermore, this FOH was unsympathetic and unhelpful and didn’t offer to keep the space whilst we looked for a toilet or even suggest where we may find the nearest one. The most charmless and unhelpful FOH I have ever had the displeasure to encounter. The whole experience was...

My wife my dog and I. Have been in london for the past 5 years. We love the food. It’s healthy clean and tastes really good. However, we try to be very easy going and quick to order when we come in and we are specific, so we try to curate the plate of food to our desire. But today will be my last day because as much as I try to ignore the fact of how many flaws and how bad the staff is. I mean we have been coming for the past two years they know our faces, how can the level professionalism and customer treatment be so low. I am truly disappointed and astonished by how there is a such a difference between the highly renowned name of Yotam Autolenghi and the horrendous customer service that is clearly apparent in this location. I would rather have a meal at chipotle ,Leon , McDonald’s or Pret, and be content and be happy with the experience from start to finish and be treated more similarly to the price that...

Fantastic customer service. I haven’t visited long time but just popped in the other day with my friend. Service & food nice. So that I tried again with different friend, nice again. Especially oriental young lady who served me both days was very caring and with appropriate speed/tempo of serving. Also mayb-store namager- gentleman chatted to me like friend but with manner. So people are 5 stars or mayb I was lucky to pop in when good staff ware on the shift. Food- considering recipe creation, London location, etc, for me good. Eat in- I learned first come first basis. Limited seating. No toilet (no need to hav if under certain seating numbers) First 2 are ok once I know it. No toilet, a bit hard tho they no need to. But expanding facilities may lose customer seating maybe? If possible m, something they can consider in future. But basically all good with great staff.

Pistachio and rosewater semolina cake - 3.75 stars Strong (almost overpowering) pistachio and rosewater flavours. Too sweet, but very moist. Rum chocolate fondant cake - 4 stars Would've loved this with cherries. It had a unique brownie-like thin crisp crust. Bit sweet. Quiche - 4 stars Too bad they didn't warm it up. Excellent crust - would likely be amazing toasted. Green beans - 4 stars Sweet potato and cheese cake - 4 stars Coconut macaroon - 4 stars I don't even like these, and don't like coconut that's not fresh coconut, but I admit this had a delicious chewy caramelized exterior and was moist on the inside.

Unfortunately overpriced and overhyped. Only 9 seats for eating in with a 30m wait at most times of day, only to receive what is essentially "posh middle-eastern" food featuring bland sweet potato and cold roast chicken. The second star is strictly for our server, who was extremely kind, courteous and attentive during our time here, handling seating issues and a kitchen mistake with profesionalism and politeness. Edit: adding a third star for the mini shepherd's pie which, even though it took its time arriving, is pure perfection in both texture and flavor.
