After walking past this place a few times, I decided to venture in to grab a spot of lunch.
Boasting a menu of salad bowls, burritos, soups and toasties it seems like there was something to satisfy the generic lunch goer.
After me and a colleague has chosen, a toaster and a burrito we sat down to wait.
Then the waiting began. After orders were brought out in front of ours and a while had passed we ventured to the til just to see if we had been forgotten about. We were instructed swiftly to go and wait and that they were âmaking the cheese crispyâ on the toastie.
We waited, after a bit more time we decided to take our orders to go and finish back at work. They finally popped back up with our order in a bag and we took back to eat.
After opening the bag we discovered what could only be described as an attempt of a burrito, no filling, just salad and seemingly the middle chopped out? A mess. The toastie wasnât even toasted, and was just a dry mix of overcooked egg and chewy bits of chicken.
The toastie cost ÂŁ11.25 and the burrito cost ÂŁ12, an insane amount of money for a whole load of terribly made, little food.
They boast a slogan of âreal food for real peopleâ, I would imagine their definition of real people are malnourished and...
Read moreFabulous healthy eating venue. Highly recommend. Food is so tasty and the ingredients are plentiful and high quality (eg kale was much nicer than the version I buy from the supermarket). Their fresh juices are super tasty. I had a âLucky 7â juice with beetroot, carrot, ginger and one of the nicest juices Iâve ever had. To eat I had a âGood Life Saladâ (sweet potato, gogi berries, kale, lentils and more) at ÂŁ11.50 and my daughter had a âMan Bowlâ with brown rice base and chopped chicken ÂŁ10.95. My salad was more filling than it looked and the dressing was spot on in terms of amount and taste. Same with the âMan Bowlâ. I saw a few negative comments re cost but personally I think prices are very fair as ingredients are high quality and food much higher quality than cafes generally serving salads.
We finished off sharing a gluten-free brownie which was fresh and very tasty (and often GF ones arenât).
There isnât much seating but we got a table at lunchtime mid-week. Staff are also from friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to come back and try some of their other food. It is not often there is so much food that I like...
