I really wanted to be able to give this place at least a 4 given how earlier experiences have been, but sadly after years of coming here with friends and family, my latest visit (a few months ago) will be my last.
Palm beach has gone down-hill in the last few years. The food and service used to be pretty good for a place like this; serving good near-authentic Sri-Lankan dishes at a decent/fair price. You may go on a day that it is not busy at all, and maybe it could be an okay experience.
As a sentimental place, I went to dine here with my partner. It was relatively busy, maybe 70% full? and we were sat down at a table promptly. We ordered our food after trying to flag down a waiter and our food took a long time to arrive. This wasn't a minor delay that was understandable during busy periods for a restaurant. It was clear that delivery wise, they were also slammed, but shouldn't they prioritise their in-restaurant customers a little more?
After asking staff a few times to check if our order had gone through and they never gave us prompt answers, we then asked again how long the food may be, politely. By this point, we had waited an agonising hour and a half. We felt completely ignored and that our time had been wasted and disrespected. There was no communication at all, whilst people that had arrived after us were receiving their food and even dessert! If we had known that it would take this long, we would have gone to Mc Donald's or cooked at home instead. 10 minutes later, we went up to ask for our order to be cancelled. Initially my partner went up to the staff member (that may have been a manager) behind the bar who just didn't listen to him (and other customers trying to reach him) and ignored him which was incredibly disrespectful. I went up (after my partner just thought it was best to leave) and got their attention finally by speaking in my native language to them (almost in tears as I was starved by this point and felt so mislead) and that is when they bothered to say 'oh is this your dish? let me pack it for you if you are going?" I refused and it had been right next to him for a good 10-15 mins! They did not apologise at the time for the inconvenience and I left after explaining that this was completely unacceptable.
I feel like they really under-pay their staff here, if you look around the back you can see the state of their kitchens and their building really needs to improve on their cleanliness which is reflected in their food hygiene rating by the food standards agency.
This is just my own experience and I wish this hadn't been the case or that I hadn't seen how it is run behind-the-scenes. Obviously, this may not be the case for others so you can choose to dine there at your own...

I've been a regular visitor to this gem of a restaurant since 2014, and even after moving away from London, it remains my top choice for authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. I finally got the chance to revisit after six years—and I’m happy to say, the taste is still as authentic and wonderful as ever.
The South Indian-style fish meals are simply out of this world—flavorful, satisfying, and deeply nostalgic for anyone who’s grown up with or appreciates South Indian/Sri Lankan cuisine.
Here’s what I tried on this visit:
Seafood Fried Rice: Without a doubt, the best Sri Lankan-Chinese style fried rice I’ve had in the UK. Perfectly balanced with rich flavors and generous seafood portions. Devilled Cuttlefish: Fresh, authentic, and absolutely scrumptious. A must-try for seafood lovers. Chicken Kothu: One of the best I’ve had in the UK—perfectly spiced, hearty, and satisfying. Mutton Chukka: Flavor was solid, but the dish could have been better if the meat pieces were smaller and more tender. It didn’t quite match the bold, intense taste you’d expect from an authentic Madurai-style chukka. Bamboo Special Mutton Biryani: This was a miss for me. It had a very subtle spice profile and an overpowering perfumy aroma that didn’t sit well with me. Not the kind of robust biryani flavor I was hoping for. Despite that one dish, I would never miss the chance to eat here whenever I’m in Wembley. This place remains a true example of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in London, and I highly recommend it to anyone craving real home-style food with bold,...
Read moreWe went to Palm beach Restaurant just over two years yesterday with my family, my parents and friends, but we’ve so disappointed overall from the service to foods. Sunday (16/02/25)we went to palm beach restaurant for family good dinner,as celebrate my father’s birthday just past week ago, but the service from the member of staff was not great which means absolutely terrible there is no friendless not there any longer. We went 8 of us and ordered the starter the members of staff brought us main meals plates with the cutlery, but there were no small plates or any other alternative, so all we use the main meal plate for starters,we expect that to be change for main meals but no body given the attention until I point out to change the plate which they did at the end,but these sort of behaviour was there 3 years ago. Moreover main meals came to table, but we cannot recognise the meal either of them too, so using the spoon to recognise either children or mutton. Then food taste absolutely disgusting as more salt on one dish other dish none,I didn’t mention any of these to member of staff but I told them that I am really disappointed with service to food, also I really don’t want to upset anyone. Overall we haven’t had the good dinner out for my father birthday treats and wasted our hard earned money of £175,50. So I wouldn’t recommend any of my friends and family to visit palm beach restaurant and I don’t think we will be visiting again this restaurant as this restaurant gave us bad customer service experience to untasted food. Please note this is feedback and review...
