I am a regular customer since the restaurant has opened. Though the food is slightly on the higher end and the waiters in there are not really to the standard. I was still going regularly as my kids like the food in there. However yesterday I had a very bad experience from one of the waitress named Saira.
I went on Sunday the 15th of October, with family around 4ish had food, got packed the leftovers and requested if they can provide some gravy for the Biryani. They provided two small boxes of gravy and provided the bill which I paid at the table. I went to hand wash and while coming back to table to join the family this lady Saira screamed “excuse me! excuse me!” from the bar counter. When I went to the counter she said by mistake she forgot to charge for the extra gravy they provided and asked me to paid £1.98p. I was not happy firstly the way she called me to the counter to pay that as I was walking to the table but not out of the restaurant, secondly wasn’t happy for charging on extra gravy after spending £45. I paid that £1.98 but while walking back to table I questioned it doesn’t make sense for charging for small pot of gravy after spending £45+. She replied back very rudely with no respect, I got very annoyed the way she spoke so asked her name so that I will complain to the manager. Again she replied very rudely that here manager is not at the moment but told her name is Saira and her manager name is Raj and she said she doesn’t care me complaining to her manager. Then I told her I know the manager and can find him in the veg section (Vasantha Bhavan). Then she walked out of the counter and come so close to me as if she want to have a physical fight with me. That was so ridiculous and was this is so cheap behaviour I have ever seen by any waitress. Luckily at the right time manager entered and saw her behaviour in his own eyes. However I have to say manager was very calm and spoke to me kindly and apologised for whatever happened and said he would speak to her. Then suddenly she started shedding crocodile tears and even started addressing me “Sir” in front of her manager, until then she was screaming on top of her voice.
This incident has put me and my family off so badly that don’t think now I would ever go back there again. The only thing I would suggest the management that you have a good chef and ambience but with these kind of staff it would give the restaurant a negative reputation. It’s management’s call weather to take action on her or not but all I would say is today she behaved very rudely to the customer and tomorrow management, it’s just the...

The “man” who works there with curly hair, he has to go. He knows absolutely nothing. We asked him what the dishes are like, he said “I dont know”. We asked for chutneys, “errr i dont think we have that”.
We ordered 3 dosa dishes and one butter chicken with 2 naans, they bring one dosa first followed by the other 2 after 15 minutes. We received the other 2 plates but then they (curly hair) brings a 4th dosa for us. We said we didn’t order this, he assumes we have but obviously they gave us someone elses order before. We still didn’t receive the chicken. Bare in mind we are now waiting for chicken for 30 minutes. He (curly hair) comes back and proceeds to clean the table while I was still eating (not good at all)
After chasing the dish, a man comes ( I believe he was the owner) and just brings the chicken curry by itself, we asked where are the naans? He said “oh you ordered naans too?”, picks up the chicken curry and takes it back with him. After 5 minutes, the waitress (who was v helpful) comes back and says sorry for the mistake and brings us the chicken with naans.
Anyway, the food was good but the service was horrible. My dad told the owner this and they still put service charge on the bill. My dad being the kind hearted man that he is paid them the full bill.
But I honestly would say we will not be going back. Good food but...
Read moreWe recently dined at The Madras in Wembley and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The food was full of bold, authentic South Indian flavors, and every dish we ordered was a hit.
We tried the Chicken Biriyani, Mutton Kothu, and Parata, and each one impressed us. • Chicken Biriyani was fragrant, perfectly spiced, and came with tender, juicy pieces of chicken. The rice was fluffy and flavorful, with just the right amount of heat—comforting and satisfying from the first bite to the last. • Mutton Kothu was the star of the meal. It had that classic street-food-style richness, with soft bits of paratha mixed with eggs, spices, and tender chunks of mutton. It was hearty, spicy, and full of depth—a real treat for anyone who loves South Indian food. • The Parata was perfectly layered and crisp on the outside, soft inside—great for pairing with the Kothu or just on its own.
The service was quick, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a cozy, casual vibe—great for both a quick bite or a relaxed dinner with friends or family.
Highly recommend The Madras for anyone craving authentic Tamil/South Indian dishes in Wembley. We’ll definitely be back to try more...
