Papillon Cafe and Patisserie — Restaurant in London

NOT CHILD FRIENDLY Avoid if you have a child Very rude owner, took a customer plate in 2 cm of my face, while shouting at me that I have to take it home! The reason was that my 4 year old accidentally touched someone's cake! I asked the other customer if he actually touched it, and she said: I think so but no problem. However the owner took the plate from her table and shouted: No it is not fine, would you eat it yourself, would you? Take the cake closer and closer to my face?!!! I regret even stepping in this store! We went in as there was an ice-cream advertisement outside, my 4 year old saw it and asked me for an ice-cream to which I said yes. We went in and it turns out that they didn't have it!!!!! My son wouldn't accept it so I asked if they have any other kind of ice-cream, the cashier said they can serve normal vanilla ice cream in a bowl which I accept. While we were waiting for the replacement of the unavailable advertised ice-cream, my son became frustrated waiting and started wondering around which was not acceptable by the owner! Papillon is the go-to lunch spot in Northfields. Run by a super friendly team, it makes a great selection of wraps, sandwiches, salads and the like. Their menu is surprisingly deep, but the staples win out all the time. The pricing is also really good.

The restaurant is kid friendly, with outdoor seating in summer. There’s a daily special sandwich, soup and smoothie. Take out is easy, and they have an incredible selection of fresh pastries and deserts. It’s just a great local spot for breakfast or lunch. I don’t usually leave reviews, but after three years of being a regular at Papillon, I feel it’s only right to share just how fantastic this place is. Every single visit has been an absolute delight. The food is always fresh and delicious, without fail. The service is second to none. I’m no chef, so having a local gem that consistently serves healthy, tasty meals at reasonable prices in such a warm and inviting atmosphere is something I genuinely appreciate.
