My fiancee and I went to this Italian restaurant on Saturday for the first time. It is a cosy place, food is fresh, delicious and ingredients are good quality. It is a family business, all of them are Italians and they cook with the heart first. We are from Sicily and we scan say the food they served has strong Sicilian taste. We had pizza as starter and pasta as main and a great bottle of red wine,We loved everything. Finally we have found a restaurant nearby where we live that offer authentic italian food. I particularly loved the way they prepare and cook abeurgeen (Sicilian style) and pasta is al dente as in Italy and is HOMEMADE( if you like overcooked pasta is just because you are not Italian). We tried cassata dessert and was rich of flavours. We enjoyed our dinner from the starter to the dessert.I really reccomend this place. Friendly and attentive service. Please don't change anything, you have found a combination of elements that is winning!

Sikulo: A Hidden Gem of Italian Delights On the northfield street , Sikulo is a charming little Italian shop that promises a culinary journey through the streets of Sicily. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the aroma of freshly baked bread, simmering sauces, and authentic Italian flavors. The ambiance of Sikulo is warm and inviting, with rustic decor reminiscent of a traditional Sicilian trattoria. The shelves are stocked with imported olive oils, aged balsamic vinegars, handcrafted pastas, and an array of specialty ingredients that are sure to inspire any home chef. One of the highlights of Sikulo is their selection of artisanal cheeses and cured meats. From creamy burrata to tangy pecorino, each cheese is carefully sourced to ensure the highest quality and authenticity. Paired with their selection of prosciutto, salami, and other cured meats, it's a feast fit for any occasion.

I discover this place by coincidence and being sicilian myself, I wanted to enter for a quick look and something to take away as I was on a rush. The blonde lady who there ,was unfriendly and annoyed, clearly not pleased . Not even a smile, she almost refused to serve me and the restaurant was empty at that moment. Very unpleasant experience , I am from Palermo myself and definitely this is not how we welcome people. I didn't try any main course so I can't judge or review that. I had a dessert to take away, it looked decent but when I tried it, the ricotta cheese was starting to taste savoury and not sweet anymore, the cannolo itself was not crunchy anymore. I personally wouldn't recommend. If you are looking for a Sicilian restaurant with a warm welcome ,and delicious food try in notting hill. Definitely different atmosphere and delicious food. **** Dear Owner, Yes, every summer 🌞 🍉 !

I am very hesitant to write a negative review about a local restaurant and small business but it would be negligent of me not to make others aware of our experience at the hands of the manageress, who took leave of her senses, at this restaurant last night. I am still reeling from what feels like a completely surreal experience at Sikulo where we had decided to go as a family of 6 to celebrate my father’s birthday. We had booked a table and were seated, when we arrived, by the door (on one of the coldest evenings of the year) which delivered a freezing blast of cold air every time someone opened it. We were too cold to remove our coats so asked our waitress if we could move tables to warmer part of the restaurant. She told us that she would ask the manageress. We waited patiently while the manageress cleaned the tables that we were hoping to move to however when a new group arrived (and the manageress was about to seat them at the table we had been politely waiting for) we got up and politely (again!) reiterated that she knew we were waiting for the table and that we were going to move to it. She had been very unwelcoming, unfriendly and decidedly rude up to this point but when we got up to move, she literally exploded at us, started shouting in-front of all the other customers that she too was cold and then her screaming became so hysterical that we couldn’t really understand what she was saying. During her outburst we repeatedly requested that she stop shouting at us and to please lower her voice however this fell on deaf ears. At this point we should have left but we were completely shell shocked and bewildered and also didn’t want to ruin our father’s birthday meal more than the manageress already had so we stayed and were treated to decidedly mediocre meal. I have eaten at Sikulo numerous times before with friends and have recommended it widely but I will never...

If I could give them no stars I would. Worst meal and experience I have ever had. The restaurant was packed for some reason! My friend and I had pasta - I had fusilli al arribiata and my friend had stuffed tortellini with butter sage sauce. Hers was like a bowl of yellow coloured water with pasta swimming in it! Mine was like a bowl of sauce with cheap supermarket fusilli. My friend complained and was told that’s how it was supposed to look but they changed her dish reluctantly - ie grabbed the plate off the table and gave her a replacement spinach ravioli with a double cream sauce. Once again it was like a bowl of soup so she told the waitress she couldn’t eat it. The waitress said we didn’t know anything about Italian food and that this is how Sicilian food should look. I said that mine wasn’t great either and with that she grabbed all the dishes off the table, grabbed our wine and told us to get out. When I tried to talk to her about her lack of hospitality, she literally put her face in my face and said it was her restaurant and we were to get out. I could feel her spit on my face it was so close. I was literally shaking. Have never experienced anything like it - either the food, the service or the lack of civility! Please don’t waste your money - I think people go because it’s cheapish! Or maybe the pizzas are ok - I don’t know. But I will not be going back…ever! And if you note the owners response to mine or any other negative reviews, it says everything you need to know about this restaurant and...

I ate at Sikulo twice. First time round I would give it 5/5 for the overall experience. 2nd time round I developed all symptoms of food poisoning after eating seafood there. And it is not even for the food poisoning that I am writing this review but how it was handled by the restaurant. First of all I wrote them an email, that was never replied to, as their inbox is full and nothing goes though. Then I called them to explain what had happened and was reassured by the manager that they buy everything fresh and that they were sorry. Yes sorry was all they could come up with. Couple of days later I texted them to ask if they managed to clear up their inbox to be able to reply to my email, and then it started. They called me to ask if I was ok, so I said I was ok but disappointed with how this case is being handled, and that from a restaurant as nice as theirs it would have been nice to have half a bill refunded, or to be invited to a pizza on the house or any gesture to show they were sorry. Then I got arrogant tone that she gets up at 5 am every morning to clean this place and that it was nothing from her restaurant, that this could have been a lot a things, like me overeating. I said I would hung up and we never spoke again. I didn’t suggest to them this had happened as an act of their negligence, but indeed it was on a hot day and it was seafood, so I had hoped they would own some responsibility for what happened and give it the benefit of the doubt rather than taking it all personally and accusing me...
