Pitshanger Bakery — Restaurant in London

This is a great bakery that I have been a customer of since they first arrived in Northfield Ave.

But they are not perfect.

I am moved to write this review because their stocking policy is completely rubbish. Ostensibly, they are open until 16:30, but I really don't know why they bother because by mid to late morning they are typically out of most of the things that I want to buy. This is absolutely infuriating. I simply do NOT understand why they do not bake more of the popular items so that they are not CONSTANTLY out of stock.

I have tried on a number of occasions to raise this issue with the staff but all they do is smile sweetly and shrug their shoulders whilst pointing out that stocking decisions are above their pay grade. I accept this, but surely by now the customer feedback should have been passed up the line and something done about it.

The last time that I was in the shop (at midday just a couple of days ago) I was so infuriated with the mostly bare shelves that I simply turned around and walked out without buying anything. I typically spend £20 - £30 per visit.

I can also confirm the observations of some of the other reviewers as well - the service is frequently very impatient, often teetering on the border of rudeness if you do not know instantly what you wish to order (perhaps because half the things that you went in for are persistently out of stock!). Constant barks of "anything else?!" without giving you a moment to think are really rather irritating to say the least. I appreciate that the shop is often busy, but really, this is...

Bakery itself is lovely, food overpriced but fresh! ..my problem is with a particular member of staff..maybe shes rushed off her feet ( even though there are only max 3 ppl allowed in the shop ) only ever 2 when I was there. I feel rushed..I dont know what I want to buy so I ask her whats this.. or whats that.. but its like she doesn't have the patience and that negative energy just comes out and I just end up buying the same thing a baguette! lool she doesn't even wait until i pay before taking the next order lool...I guess its not only me who feels this way I was just reading other comments. I used to love their breads, especially the sourdough—it was always soft and delicious. However, since they moved to their new location, the quality has noticeably declined. I stopped buying from them after a couple of disappointing experiences but decided to give them another chance yesterday. Unfortunately, the result was the same.
