Have been eating here for a few years now; in my opinion this sort of food requires you to sit in and eat as the bread and popadoms will go stale very quickly. I really like this restaurant and I still do HOWEVER, I do not like the fact that they dictate to their customers how much money you MUST spend on food to be "worthy" of their service. For example, I wanted just bread as I already had a salad for lunch and I needed a carbohydrate to eat with my salad. I ordered a naan bread and was told "we do not sell just bread, you need to buy a meal'' .. in my opinion this is outrageous ! NOTE TO OWNER: if you do not like the fact that customers may want a few items on your menu and YOU believe this is not ''worth'' your time and ''money'' then close your restaurant. What you need to remember is that as much as a business can do well there will be times that you may not do as well as other months/years. If you continue to dictate to people what they should be spending in your restaurant You will find that less people will eat in and you will lose out on business and then you will wish for customers and be grateful that you could sell £2.80 naan bread yet alone a meal. I understand that you have side dishes to accompany a main meal, However, people may not want a meal; and nor should I have your staff telling me I must spend a minimum amount to be served. Remember your "regulars" will not be regulars forever. We all die in the end lol. PLUS people do NOT have to eat at your restaurant there are other restaurants that will be happy to sell a £2 item the same way they will be happy to sell a £25-£30 meal -...
Read moreHubby and I came here for dinner just the other day. We were lucky to get a spot outside; we didn't make a reservation, but I would recommend making one as the place was packed.
The service was quick, and helpful. Our server did help us with portion size; we would have definitely over ordered otherwise.
We ordered the arctic murg, shah jahan biryani, paneer makkhani, and the garlic naan. Our favorite was the biryani and the paneer. The arctic murg was a spicy version of the butter chicken. It was spicy and flavourful, but the chicken was a bit dry. The garlic naan here is thicker and more bread like then I prefer, I like my naan chewier. The biryani was super tasty and came with a side of vegetable curry. I'm usually not a big fan of lamb, but they did a good job with it, and it didn't taste super gamey. The paneer was a nice contrast to the spicy bitter chicken we had.
After finishing our meal, we were offered fresh mint tea on the house! It was a lovely way to end the evening. We enjoyed this place and will...
Read moreHad a guest in town who wanted Indian so we went to Woodlands up in Hampstead Village, but it was randomly closed for some reason. So we walked down to Paradise because it had good reviews. All the good reviews are warranted...and then some. We had Methi Gohst, Saag Paneer, Vegetable Biryani, Kulcha Naan, and Cucucmber Raita. A FEAST for two people and with drinks it came in at £33. I was floored it wasn't more. Then when we asked for the bill, the manager (?) came over and said since it was our first time (no idea how he knew that) we couldn't leave until we had had a complimentary drinks. My friend had an espresso, and I requested "bartender's choice." I was brought a traditional single-malt Indian whiskey that was fantastic and definitely high quality. They also brought us ice cream! There was traditional live sitar music the whole time, and this was on a Monday night. It's exactly how you'd hope a local restaurant would be run. I'm in love. I...
