I went to collect preordered buche de noel and got paris brest while there too. That was sadly the last time. I had to specify what cake I was picking up as order number was not clear enough for staff. Paris brest was stale and cream way too solid and buttery. Far cry from light lovely cream it is supposed to be. Buche de Noel( yule log) was a total joke!!! A block of filling with 2 tiny sticks of sponge inside. Completely inedible! Did you burn the cake and decided to just shape the filling like a cake hoping nobody would notice?????? Remind your "pastry chef" that it's a roulade with cream filling , not a blob of cream filling . Disgusting

I was shocked to see how dirty the place was! I knew Paul was a good cafe but this branch literally needs department of sanitation called for inspection. I told them I would sit outside and they put my sandwich on a tissue and placed it on a very dirty tray! I asked for a small plate so that I feel a human not a dog and they said they don’t offer plates for their terrace outside! Shocked again! And last, the cappuccino I ordered was really bad too😐🥺

This was my first time visiting Paul's restaurant. After walking a lot we were tired I wanted to have some hot food. Loved their food pastry, sandwiches and cold drinks. A cosy restaurant. They have a restroom too which I wanted to go was a great help👌. So anyone wanting to go to the restroom while walking at St Paul Cathedral can go to this restaurant 👍. They have wide varieties of pastries, fresh baked breads &deserts all delicious 🥰👌

Don't know what was wrong with Pauls when I visited in Feb. Customers in front of us complained they couldn't sit down because none of the tables were cleared of previous customers trays. The staff seemed to have issues amongst each other who would go and clean it. Meanwhile as we are in the queue with other customers a member of staff is brushing dirt from the front door onto the backs of our feet. Then they said the upstairs is closed, after we had been standing waiting almost 20 minutes. A shame because it's a great location and was expecting to be able to simply order coffee and my expectations are not high. This is a actually the first Google review of a cafe/restaurant I have written because I was so disappointed in Pauls because of the staff and their attitude towards customers and total disinterest in maintaining a clean...

To start, I love Paul's and is my go to coffee house when in London. My favourite was in Soho which has sadly closed but Covent Garden comes a close second. Always have an Almond Croissant and Large Latte or Mocha. This Paul's although in a prime location near the front entrance of the cathedral is far from scratch. The staff seemed very uninterested. I wanted my usual large Latte in a china cup,. We only have paper cups here was the reply. Okay but I want a large, we only have this size holding up a regular size cup. When it came I sat outside, took the lid off to find it was only 2/3 full. Very disappointing. I'll continue to go to Paul's but this branch is off my list. I didn't like the couldn't care less attitude The staff need some serious customer relations training on how not to be so unenthusiastic...

The service is slow and chaotic - and it's a simple cafe, you don't ask for much - yet the staff is untrained. No cutlery or napkins provided upstairs. So you pay extra to dine in, collect your order yourself (ie it's not even a waiter doing it - self service IKEA style), bring it upstairs to find out no cutlery or napkins available and your only choice now is to go downstairs to request it all.

Coffee is taking ages to be ready, the person taking orders is slow and forgets we ordered latte, not cappuccino. The baristas didn't even know about our order and served 4 people who arrived after us!

The service is hopelessly substandard in this place and it is not worth your money. Look elsewhere - there's plenty to choose from...
