Sports Direct — Local services in London

Rudest staff ever... and managers too. I went there with a voucher and, after having a look around looking for pregnancy gym clothes, I asked a member of the team if they had any pregnancy clothes in any store. The lady answered to me without even looking at me: "I don't know. Go there". I then asked "Where? all your stores?" and she answered "Go where you want" (still not looking at me and turning her back to me).

I went to the tills as I wanted my money back as I don't wish to buy from them ever again, and had to ask to speak to a manager. The manager was even worst. When I said I would like to have my money and not a voucher, she said that it was company policy not to give money back. I said I did not want to get anything from them ever because I felt ill-treated by a member of the staff and asked what kind of policy is that, that you don't give money back to customers and allow their staff to pay frustrations with customers. She smiled and I said I could not find the joke. She then turned her back to me (common practice, I see) and...

I hope this Ludgate Hill/St Pauls branch isn't the SportsDirect "flagship" store. Staff stood around checking their phones. If you do ask for help its not usually a very polite experience. I actually witnessed one member of staff trying to get to a rack that a customer was unfortunately stood in front of and the orders given to the customer were "I need to get to there". The managers/owners of this store really need to pay a "secret shopper" visit to this store to see what level of "customer service" their staff provide. We left after getting a short exposure to the "Sports Direct customer experience" and went to "Blacks" nearby for our purchase and the staff there were extremely polite, very helpful and pleasant - what a difference compared to...

Very unhappy with this store. I bought a junior swimming costume for my daughter and without removing any labels, protective covering or packaging, got home and realised it was the same size as her existing one. Took it back the next day, spoke nicely to the store manager with receipt intact and asked him if I could exchange it for the next age up. He refused, was really quite rude and told me I should have been told when I purchased it and that it's a new law by the Government (which I checked out and it seems this is incorrect). He refused to even consider that the swimsuit hadn't even been tried on, let alone worn and had ALL the protective covering on! Very disappointed and won't be visiting this...
