A hidden gem and a great place to appreciate the beauty of St Paul's Cathedral and London skyline.
There are two different types of view of the cathedral - one from the ground floor and the other from the rooftop.
I personally prefer the views from the ground floor where you get an amazing reflection of the cathedral from the mall's shiny façade. You just have to be lucky enough to not have crowds around you to spoil the moment.
The rooftop platform (6th floor) is reachable by elevator and is free of charge. Apart from the unobstructed views of the cathedral and London there are seating options and on the other side of the deck there is a restaurant called Madison from where you can get some drinks or grab a dinner, however while I visited there was a long que to get in.
I really enjoyed this little secret spot and recommend to pass by, it is most probably on your way anyway. Last visited...
Read moreArrived a little after 10pm, got told the public entrance was closed, which I understand because it was late, but I asked to grab a drink at the bar and got turned away because they don’t allow ‘single entry’. Other groups of 2 were allowed in just after me. Not sure if this policy is made public on their site but as a solo traveller, I call this discrimination, I haven’t encountered this anywhere else in any cities...
Read moreThis rooftop is FREE, all you need to do is take the elevator at the One New Orange up to the top floor and enjoy this view. If you want to catch a cool shot go into the elevator on the right side. Photographers: do know that tripods are NOT allowed here. There's a guard on site that will not allow you to use it.
