I visited 'Petit Cafe' on Sunday with my parents, sister and baby nephew. We were lucky enough that it was a beautiful sunny day so we sat outside. The inside of the cafe is really nicely decorated. This is a lovely local cafe for people who live in Maida Vale/ close by to the area.

The staff were very friendly and service was fast and efficient.

There is a very varied menu for sandwiches, cakes, brunch etc. We all had sandwiches and there was a choice of baguette, paninni, bread. My mum had a honey and lemon cake which looked very nice but I didnt get chance to taste. I would have ordered a cake for myself but my nephew was whining in his push chair. I suppose I shouldn't complain as he will help me keep of a few pounds of weight.

I think the prices are very cheap, it was only £5 for a sandwich! Our total bill came to £30 which is excellent for Maida Vale!

My mum and dad are very fussy eaters but they were very happy with the sandwiches and choice of cafe.

However, i returned with my boyfriend for a brunch in the week and it was very disappointing and far from the experience on the weekend. My boyfriend ordered avocado on toast without the eggs or tomatoes on side salad. However, it arrived with eggs on top of the avocado on toast and tomatoes on salad. I ordered poached eggs but i got scrambled. The service was very slow and the plates were left on the table for ages. Its a shame as it wasn't great food or service. It think perhaps this place is better for...

Service was slow waiting for over 45 minutes, addressed this to the waiter he said they were very busy, when the food was finally served I had mould on my tomato showed it to the same waiter he said he was sorry explained to him I’m not happy with the service he replied nothing wrong with the service they are just very busy, didn’t look busy to me they only had a couple of tables of 2, there was 6 of us didn’t even get everything we ordered. I asked for the bill he had the nerve to add service charge, I went to the till asked him to take off the service charge he refused and asked me what was wrong with the service? Explained to him I was served mouldy tomato waited almost an hour before the food was served, he disagreed said there was nothing wrong with the service and insisted it was paid for, informed him I’ll leave a review and asked him again to take the service charge off the bill he finally took it off. I will never recommend anyone to dining at this place they obviously don’t have a clue about good customer service, I’m surprised they have a four star on...

Sorry to say this, as the atmosphere and location are genuinely lovely — this place could be a great regular spot. Unfortunately, the quality just doesn’t match the potential. I’ve been twice now, hoping it was just an off day, but both visits were disappointing. The coffee — I tried both a cappuccino and a flat white — tasted overly bitter and burnt, as if the beans were poor quality or over-extracted. The food was also underwhelming — the bun under the poached eggs was a bit undercooked. Even on a sunny day there were still free tables, which surprised me, though the kitchen and staff are already working at full stretch and speed. Right now it doesn’t feel like good value for money — which is a shame, because with some care to improve coffee and food quality, and efficiency overall, it could be a really a place to go to with a great pleasure on a...

This was a lovely spot for a coffee and sandwich! On a nice day, we sat outside, and there is greenery around, which gives you a sense of enclosure and calm. The server was very polite, explaining the different sandwiches to us, and was happy to modify them to our liking. The sandwich itself was really nice! Perhaps I think it could have a little bit more filling in it, but the taste was great. It was served with a small lettuce and cucumber salad, and mayonnaise. I had a macchiato, and it was the real deal, with only a little bit of foam on top! For two people, each having a sandwich and a coffee, everything came out to about 20 pounds, fees included. For the nice ambiance, food, service, and time spent chatting, I think this was a good price for the experience. I recommend this cafe to locals!

Stay away of this place!! It’s an absolute rip off. They charged £5.00 for the most standard oat latte and £5.00 for a super dry, badly warmed up ham and cheese croissant. There is a GAIL’s bakery 2 blocks away where you can go and you would probably spend less than that for delicious coffee and a pastry. If you want to be overcharged for an ordinary latte and seat at a place furnished with stuff bought from Ikea and Amazon then this is your place. For reference I went to Ole & Steen in Marylebone and spend 7.80 for an oat latte and a delicious pastry. See receipt attached. Take a note: even super popular Instagram viral bakeries, like Layla’s in Notting Hill is cheaper than this place.

The place has a lot of potential. There’s a lot of food variety. However, prices don’t seem to match the quality of the product. I had a slice of cake for takeaway, which cost £6. I was disappointed on the portion as the guy sliced it in front of me and looked like he was just leaving the “crust out”. I thought that maybe it was because it was a very rich cake. When I finally had a bite, the sponge felt stale, which made me wonder if it was from the day before. The breakfast that were being served looked really nice, but I didn’t see the prices for a normal English breakfast. Just a shame.
