1 HOUR WAIT FOR ORDER, MEDIOCRE FOOD, ZERO SERVICE
We can here on a Saturday at 2.30pm and left at 4pm feeling unsatisfied and utterly disappointed by our first and last visit to the restaurant.
We waited 1 full hour before we had any food at all, only to be disappointed by both the quality of the food and the service of the staff. Upon arrival, we waited 20 minutes before someone finally came to take our order, and then another 40 minutes to receive the orders. In the end, one of our starters (octopus salad) never even arrived and we ended up having to cancel the order. Throughout our entire stay, only one server came to acknowledge and apologize for the delay. Not only so, towards the end, one of the servers even came to our table on two separate occasions to take away our olive oil/vinegar and salt & pepper without asking us first whether he could do so. He did it in such a way that seemed like we were invisible. In the end, we had to even go up to the front counter to pay for our food because the service was simply inadequate. When we paid, no one even acknowledged or apologized for their lack of acknowledgement of us as customers or for the delay of their food. Moreover, we had to pay full price for the food that simply did nothing deserve the price of it. We came honestly with such an excited heart to be immersed in the full Portuguese experience and to try not only their starters and main course but also their desserts. Sadly, we never managed to do so.
For food, we ordered two starters (fritters, octopus salad) and two main courses (francesinha, picanha). Honestly, only the francesinha was decent and everything else was rather underwhelming. The fritters looked like it came straight from a frozen pack, while the fries were semi-cold and tasteless.
I’m sure the restaurant is a fine place but both mine and my boyfriend’s experience were utterly underwhelming and disappointing, and I am sad to have to give...
Read morePintos in Lambeth is honestly one of my favourite Portuguese restaurants. The food is absolutely extraordinary—I’ve been here several times, whether on my own, with family, or with friends, and every experience has been consistently excellent. The restaurant itself is extremely clean, including the bathrooms, which are always spotless. The customer service is outstanding: the staff are welcoming, friendly, and genuinely go out of their way to help. Even little things, like offering to charge your phone if you need it, really show how much they care about their guests. The atmosphere is another highlight. It’s calm, relaxed, and very comfortable—perfect for enjoying a meal and good conversation. Other customers are always respectful as well, which adds to the overall pleasant vibe. Pintos is not just a place to eat but a place to feel at home. Delicious food, great service, pristine cleanliness, and a peaceful atmosphere—every visit is a pleasure, and I always leave happy. Highly...
Read moreAs an Irish person who has spent their life savoring the seafood along the rugged western seaboard of Ireland, dining at this exceptional Portuguese seafood restaurant was a delight.
Family-run, I was struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere and the staff exuded genuine hospitality. Their passion for seafood was evident from the moment I sat down.
I ordered the grilled cod topped with olive oil, garlic and onions - served with potatoes (Bacalhau A Lagareiro). The cod was expertly cooked, tender and flaky. It was also very reasonably priced for a main course in central London, which was an added bonus.
The wine list featured an array of Portuguese selections and the knowledgeable staff helped me pair the perfect bottle with my meal.
I strongly recommend it to anyone in search of a great dining experience in the heart of London. Pinto’s Portugal Tapas Bar & Restaurant is very authentic and well...
