I’ve been ordering since it’s opened. I’ve literally spend hundreds of pound at Pitta House.
There is no consistency in the food quality, packaging, prices anything.
Prices have been increased dramatically during the last few months ( no excuse due to the current situation - the increase is still way too high ). I’m still happy to pay the increased prices as long as the quality and the taste of the food are good.
The quality generally was dropped during the last year or so. The fries smell and taste very badly/ you need to immediately change the quality of the oil you fry them in and/or the fries themselves. They’re disgusting and I had to throw them away for the fourth time.
Packaging, although much improved since they opened the restaurant, lately it’s been inconsistent and not of good quality. The souvlaki wrap I bought today was simply put in a bag, like a pastry bag. Not in the proper bag that prevents it from getting cold.
It’s a real shame- can you not just copy a proper souvlaki restaurant in Greece and do things the way they do?
Unless all of the above change ( and especially the awful smell and taste of the fries ) I won’t be...
Read moreIt was the first time we tried food from the Pitta House. It had been suggested to us a few times by friends, but we did not have the opportunity to visit the Pitta House. Today, it was our first time there. We ordered two pitta clubs, one chicken gyros and one pork gyros, extra pittas and one tirokafteri as a dip. The portions were more than satisfactorily big for their price and the quality of meat was excellent. We also liked very much the tirokafteri dip (one of the best I have tried in London). We will definitely visit it again. A must go for greek...
Read moreAbsolutely outstanding place. Run by actual Greeks who use the right ingredients to prepare the food. The only place I have found which sells "real Greek" souvlaki outside of Greece. I would have been happy eating this souvlaki in Athens, so imagine my delight having it in London. If this souvlaki is good for Athenian standard, then it is exquisite for London standards. The tirokafteri btw, is even better than any I have had in Greece (and even better than the one my giagia prepares... but don't tell her). Definitely go there! Approved and...
