Make the effort to visit this very fine restaurant. Even in Sutton. If you live in Central London or a few miles from Sutton, this is worth the extra effort. Authentically real while I find the majority not to be. I have not had the opportunity to write a positively wonderful review for approx 6 years since relocating to Brisbane. Casa Nostra is the deal. It’s a gem. No wonder every seat was full when we arrived at 10pm unlike any other venue we passed. Location is not opposite Sutton station (a bit of an eye sore to the visitor). Don’t turn back. Continue on a further 50 metres approx (with town centre behind you). Casa Nostra is situated on an attractive unexpected road reminiscent to a private Crescent. This restaurant was recommended to me by a Sutton Holiday Inn personnel employee. I was sceptical. Who would eat in Sutton unless you were a lover of the deep fried I thought? I booked the table late in the evening 9.45pm for a 10pm sitting for two. It was booked over the phone with a welcoming warmth once familiar. On arrival this extraordinary dining ‘taverna style with table clothes’ bellowed with life. Enjoyment, happy patrons filled every table. We were escorted to our table with the grace as it once was. Our perfect table setting appropriate for an unusual balmy Mediterranean warm evening in Sutton. Our table graced the wide footpath - we were in sufficient ear shot of other patrons and the attentive staff. The menu, displayed on a neat blackboard was presented by our Waiter. A gentleman of patron experience and assurity. Articulately he recited the components of each dish. Each a classic as I recognised. Not destroyed with ‘unnecessary’ ‘fancy’ fiddling. Starters: scallops and prawns. Generous flavoursome servings. Not a gesture nor need for microscope. The aroma caught our nostrils as the Waiter approached our table. I can say this is never an experience in Brisbane. Not any more. The sauce had been prepared from scratch with real ingredients superbly merged. No separation of oil to wine. As Exceptional to when you know yourself those meals or sauces you’ve created have hit your jackpot. Timing and Care. The consistency was as I experienced many years ago. Being a Chef I recognised this. An indulgent melt in mouth steak for main course with a generous serving of vegetables. Salad was an option and it was good as it accompanied my daughter’s main dish of lamb shank. It held the richness and sweetness you would expect preparing shanks for the day at the right time of day. The mouth watering sauce could not be improved in any way. Home made Lemoncelle ice cream we shared. A home made cup cake was offered as we left in addition to a night cap. It’s presentation beautiful and perfectly distributed with a desirable Raspberry...

..... Why Haven't I Been Here Before?! ....
I Tried to Visit Last Week but they Were Closed for Post New Year Holiday but hadn't updated Google which Still Showed as Open.
Not to Worry I Rang at 6pm Today as I Fancied "Proper Italian" and Although They Were Packed They Managed to Fit Me In for 6.30pm until 8pm. I Turned Up at 6.20pm.....
I had Diet Coke as my Drink (No Coca-Cola Zero) with Crispy Whitebait to Start with Garlic Mayonnaise which was Delicious...... Followed by the BEST MOST TASTIEST LASAGNE I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE!! 😋....... Melt In Your Mouth Succulence from the Spoon to My Tummy. It Was Absolutely Divine 😋. No Hard Lasagna Sheet Ready Meal Version Here!! CONFIRMED HOME MADE!! For Dessert I had Chocolate and Mint Ice Cream Bombe Which was Minty Refreshing 😊.
I Was Worried about Fitting Everything In Before 8pm but I Was Ahead of Schedule and All Paid Up by 7.50pm ish. I Started by Rushing due to My Anxiety but I Made It. In any case, the couple next to me which arrived after me , finished before I did, so there was no need to panic!
The Lot Came to £35.75 Including Service Charge Which I Thought Was Excellent..... It Costs that to eat at Whitbread Bar + Block Steakhouse and A LOT is Pre Prepared Frozen There..... NOT Homemade Authentic Italian Cuisine.
Oh and Veal is On the Menu, Both In Breadcrumbs and Without. The Waiter/Manager/Owner Said as Long as Mum Brings her Gluten Free Breadcrumbs they Can Do Veal in Breadcrumbs but Gluten-free! 😊
What An Enjoyable Meal..... I Was Originally Going to Have Risotto but I Think I'll be Back Next Week to Have That...... There's Just TOO MUCH Scrummy Italian Cuisine on the Menu to Choose! One thing's for sure Spaghetti Carbonara, Was a very popular dish this evening as I saw one after the other being brought out from the kitchen, past me!
My new favourite Italian..... Must Bring Vitalie, My Italian Support Worker for Lunch Some Time, To see how a native finds it. Although natives run and own the restaurant, so I think he will agree it's the Best in the area, but there's only one way to find out!...... 😀.
Until Sometime Very Soon for...
Read moreFor those who love a laugh, there's a comedic element to the servers here... That's a warning to anyone who would be offended or annoyed by slightly mischieveous behaviour and jokes. I was originally shocked by it but loved it, and if you would like a little informal and unconventional messing around and humour then it'll be a niche and you'll come back here regularly. We came back for the fun but, we ALSO came back for the FOOD. I've worked in elite restaurants all around central London, and tried the food in them all, only pretending to be impressed for my employers' sake, and at Casa Nostra - it's the first place I've ACTUALLY been IMPRESSED by food ANYWHERE! my girlfriend and I wanted to meet the chef because, I can't believe how a small restaurant and kitchen could product such great taste & flavour! The presentation is exceptional. The service is very accommodating and Birthdays get a bit of a show (no spoils for those who haven't been there) but really cheer up the whole restaurant. It's been a very good vibes and overall dining experience twice now and before we move, we might go there once more :) it has set a goal standard for finding good restaurants wherever we...
